You're right. It just sounds so clean that it seems harmonic almost.

Its a nexus 2 preset
Piano > PN Dancepiano 2k7

I know 2 other songs off the top of my head that use that same preset, and those same exact chords lol
Essence - Club Paradise
Skrillex & Damian Marley - Make It Bun Dem (Coone Remix)

Tried Sylenth1 with detune about half on 2 osc's and a portamento and lfo but still doesnt get the same effect, and I heard someone recreated it on here years ago.

it's evident from that lead that it's not using a pitch LFO, it's using a chorus with the rate turned up, the lead is also unison of course and EQ'd

Actually a good kick does create a chord. Sort of.

First with the fundamental frequency, then the harmonics that come up from distortion - namely the 2nd harmonic (an octave above the fundamental), the 3rd harmonic (an 5th thats an octave above the fundamental), and the 4th harmonic (another octave above) and it keeps on going (read up on the harmonic series).

The flavour of the kicks low end (and even some of the body) is how loud those harmonics are (notes of the chord), and how they are move in volume relative to each other.

Good kicks usually have the fundamental, third, 4th, 5th and 6th harmonics quite emphasised.

So they kinda do form a chord if you drill the sound down to individual partials. (H)

Of course, if you were to take a few distorted sounds already rich in low end harmonics and then tried to make a chord with them, it would be a horrible mess! :hat:

try adding a phaser and tweek it to make it work as a filter, turn off modulation in the phaser (put rate and depth to zero) play around with it.. frontliner used to use phasers a lot and I can hear that funky phaser effect in that particular lead.. also, don't hesitate to boost mids on the lead to improve the character
