The passion is what makes the obsession :) I love producing and think of it every day, always music in my head, no matter what. It's one of the very few things I'm seemingly good at, or getting good at, and one of the even fewer things that might be useful in the future. The thing is that since I don't get paid for doing this, it's so frustratingly hard to mix it with actual work. When I try to do work at home it just doesn't work out at all, I constantly get distracted and play the reference mp3's on my desktop whenever I get the urge. Pure addiction! I really hope it eventually works out, so I can get that stress of getting the work done to a lower point.

I guess I'm like most people in this thread haha

You see things exactely the same way as I do and most others who replied to this thread. In the end I find it really cool that so many people are so dedicated to producing :)

The reason I started producing for is because I see something like a big library of tunes in the world and I felt the need to add the missing ones, the ones I hear in my head but nobody else can hear. And it really makes me happy that so many people contribute and add their creative creations to this library of worlds music, but because of the huge number of contributions it can't be avoided that most of the songs don't get heard. Anyway if someone is really dedicated about this and really feels that he needs to share his ideas with the whole listener-group who likes the same kind of music than he will be able to cross the technical barrier and if his productions are really outstanding labels will help him to get his creations to a reachable shelf in the music library so that everybody who is interested into hearing the creation has the possibility.
I'd really like to get my ideas to that reachable shelf but I still haven't crossed the technical barrier and the ideas that I have at the moment I admit are far from being worth to be on this shelf, but I will always keep trying, like we all, and who knows...maybe one day one of us, who replied to this post, who really worked hard, will have the possibility to play his creation in front of 50000 people (if he can DJ, one thing I still haven't learnt...) :)

Sorry I got a bit poetic now, but I just felt the need to share this opinion with you! :)

I would say youre lucky to be obsessed. Its much worse to sit and think "ohhhh I would love to make this" and get plenty of ideas but just not have the persistence and willpower that it demands to get to a proper production lvl :)
Which is essentially where I am :(

The problem is that in my case I feel locked in a room and see the girls outside the room, want to escape and go to them but can't reach them and the only thing which rests is to masturbate ;)

Right now I am listening to some songs I really like and everyday I wish to be able to make so sick songs and try and try and than always they seem to come out really well but in the end I compare and see that anyways there is missing something and I think I will never be able to make such songs. I am quite a lazy person and in most other cases I would quit in this situation but with producing I always feel the need to retry.
But I will accept it the way it is and be happy that I don't find it hard to stand up and retry after failing and keep hoping that one day I am able to do what I want. :)

ofc you need to train HOW to please the ladys (know-how about producing). as long as you like to train its good, cause you will learn how to do stuff, when you practise all the time. its just a matter of time.
your problem is called "patience" ;)
