I have a new question / topic to discuss about.
Recently I am playing a lot with samples from Vengeance etc. I enjoy this a lot, because you have total freedom. I found that with Slicex you can do a LOT of cool stuff. Now I want this to take it to another level (how obvious, i'm listening to Zatox - Another Level at this very moment). I don't want to stick with the sample stuff anymore, I want to create my own sounds. now I know what y'all gonna say: 'Dude just do what you like and what sounds good dude serious wtf dude c'mon" I do that what I like and I experiment a lot with this. What my question for you is: What do you do to make these sounds, share your tips and tricks, post links to useful YT video's, you can even post presets (although this doesn't support the creativity)
I start off:
I like to take Sylenth1, put four pulse oscillators with each 8 voices, experiment with the detune, put chorus on it, delay with very fast delay time, distort it, process it through LFOTool from XFer Records for panning or other LFO shizzle. Then EQ it, dist, compress, very often I use Sausage Fattner and export it. But last but not least: A SHITLOAD OF REVERB!!!
Just like alcoholists say: Doesn't matter what the problem is, alcohol is the answer.
Almost everything sounds better with reverb, if you use it properly. I don't suggest to use reverb on your main kick although.
Cheers, it's weekend!
