Do you do your own Mastering?

Do you guys do your own mastering of tracks or do you hire a sound engineer to do that for you :P

Depends, released tracks are professionally mastered, on other tracks I basically do some small things like limiting and making sure the low frequencies are mono. At least the limiter is a must imo, otherwise it sounds bad because all the other tracks you'd play would be a lot louder if you wouldn't use it.

I usually forget about mastering, though I'm going to try and remind myself to do so. I also don't plan on getting signed any time soon, so self-mastering is on my to do list, yes.

word, can't do anything without a limiter, and I always try to get the sounds clear while creating them, so well Im kind of mastering a lot while producing I think

Thats how i do it aswell, didnt know it was called mixing down :P

ah alright, well I knew there was a difference, always thought mixdown was the quality of the sounds in general and the mastering was making the sounds fit together, ok following that thought I see my comment was wrong, I need to know the damn difference for once :D

But, to set this clear, mastering comes from master so its the regulating effects you put on that, right ?

yes I think its owned by him, he was the only one I had contact with during the process and he also did the mastering

I release free tracks, but I'm very fortunate to have the guy behind EuphoricHardStyleZ to master my tracks for me :)
