Arranging the Intro/Mid-Intro

Post by Markove »

An area I've been struggling with in my productions is what to use for the introduction and mid-introduction sections of a song (the lead aspect if you will, not percussion, kicks, etc). I've read that many people use a screech, hoover, or some sort of vocal effect. From what I understand, however, is that the melody should be incorporated somehow. Generally, when creating a track comes together easily for me except for this particular portion.

How do others here approach this portion of the track? Currently I've been using a modified version of the melody lead in my tracks along with a shortened melody pattern. I'm not entirely confident this is how it should be done. I've been listening to tracks from a variety of producers, but haven't been able to find a breakthrough by doing that.

I'd love some outside insight. :)

I slowly realized this today myself while listening to the new HWS. I'll have to wait and see what comes to mind. :)

Oh well, hopefully some others see this and get the same message.
