Reverb question.

Post by andyhuynh »

Hey everybody!

I don't have a pair of monitors yet so I can never tell whether i'm using too much, or too little amounts of reverb.

I'm using Logic Pro 9 and I use the Lexicon 'LexHall' reverb on a bus/send. How much mix % should I be using in the reverb plugin?

Imagine building a guitar and then tuning it and then playing it. That's what electronic music is.

If you can't tell man, then you just shouldn't be producing lol
You neeeeed some studio monitors to produce, like ASAP!

But yeah I used to use around 20% reverb mix, but I use sends through cubase now

Studio monitors are good for producing but if you listen close you can also hear whats good!

With 'good' monitors you can improve a lot.

okk soo a Producer needs to make a Mixdown too.
now lets give a Producer some fcked up Logitech Speakers for 50€ and lets ask him if he can make a Track with good mixdown and it should be enjoyable / Listenable.

Well if you can't hear really clearly what exactly you're producing... then how the hell are you gonna produce good quality music?
If you're asking someone else how much reverb you need to use... you need good monitors!
