Compression Analyser VST?
Hi, I was just wondering if a plugin exists which could detect the attack/release and maybe ratio of a sound, that would be cool i think, but does it exist ?
most spectrum analyzers such as voxengo span for example will detect the frequency spectrum but not detect any compression settings

hmmmmmmmm
i dont think something like this exists
why would u even need something like this ?
i just now that Analyzers can show the Freq , Peak and the Loudness /Rms and The phase and the Dynamic Range.

maybe they have something like that

Imagine building a guitar and then tuning it and then playing it. That's what electronic music is.

because sometimes if my ears are too tired i would like to use a compression analyser (on a punch for example) to see if it too sharp or not & to see if it needs more compression by means of seeing a reading on the attack and release of the soundTheRavestyler wrote:why would u even need something like this ?

this is what i mean if someone is confused

here i'm playing a full kick through FL limiter (with the limiter not in use), and i see the input peaks, i want to know the attack and release values of these input peaks but it doesn't say it in the graph..
taking guesses it looks something like:
Attack: 0.5ms
Release: 50ms
Lookahead: 18ms
but i want to know the exact gain envelope values of the incoming signal

http://www.fluxhome.com/products/plug_i ... compressor1.Flux Pure Compressor II
Pure Compressor II produces a wide range of compression from ultra clean subtle compression to classic heavy pumping. It’s up to your artistic choice not to the technology's limitations.
New functions have been added to the original Pure Compressor. External side chain inputs are now available. New dynamic detection algorithms are available. The MS Width control manages stereo signals. A Hold parameter and a Threshold for Hysteresis, complement the settings. Classic modes and Feedback modes are now available for signal level detection, completing the legacy Solera mode. Various new profiles can be selected for detecting the dynamics of the signal. A Maximum mode can be engaged on the Hysteresis control, allowing processing that takes into account maximum values of both the standard and the Hysteresis detection schemes.
maybe this one ??

You want to know how to recreate a volume envelope of 2 sounds combined?Aliner wrote:this is what i mean if someone is confused

noo I just want to analyze the gain envelope of a sound
couldn't find a trial download for that Flux plugin

Don't think this exists, but you can figure it out mathematically by taking the length, tempo and db fluctuations into account and making a graph with these variables. But I guess letting your ears rest might be the best solution, Aliner.
