Why do I suck so bad omg
I've been trying to produce hardstyle since 2010. I was absolutely awful back then, and it started with this song:

2 years later, I know I've improved, but I haven't improved as much as I feel I should have...almost every day I'm trying to produce something and I just get frustrated and depressed because I will never actually sound good.
This is my latest song:

My friends tell me my kicks are mediocre, even though I spend hours trying to tweak them. I have all the VST's necessary to produce good music but I feel that I might be, quite frankly, too stupid to use them efficiently.
My leads are often pianos with a ton of reverb because I can't use nexus or sylenth1 presets to sound any good, and god knows I cant make my own sound by tweaking the OSC's. I have played around with shapes and distortions and frequencies and everything, and I just can't do it. Even my sound design is terrible.
What do I do? Have any of you ever felt this way before? Did you get better since then? I feel like I can't improve anymore...
Thanks in advance.

My advice would be to just keep practicing. Everyone takes different amount of time to learn things, and you might just be a little slower learner. Making music isn't easy, that's why there's countless people who DL FL Studio and give up in a week.
How much time do you actually spend on your music? Not to sound rude, but it sounds very rushed. I think you focused way too much on the vocal and just threw everything else under there.
I've been producing for four years, have bought studio lessons for help, and I still haven't had a commercial release (atleast with hardstyle). It's extremely frustrating, but I want it so bad that I won't quit and I just keep trying.

I'm not really a producer yet. Like hell, I've just been trying to make a good kick before I start making a track, and it's been a few months now. I'm trying to learn how to make a nice, powerful kick. Then teach myself the rest. I'm taking it step by step and it takes time. Don't worry, just keep practicing like Kenetik said

If u have friends who produce music, ask for advice. You can't guess how to properly use a vst, you have to learn it , you have to try some different things, read documentation ... The only thing that matters is what you go throught.
A man said one day "if the method doesn't work, try another one. if it doesn't work either, try a different one ect..."
Kick are the most difficult part, so no blame for you, just ask for usefull feedback to people, talk with producers ect ... (concerning yours, they need more power, try to had some punchy 909 and a good TOK, or even more if u need it. Check tutorials for that)
Your better ally is human genre, don't forget that

There's definitely something special about hardstyle from 2006-2010....

quite funny how some ppl write this topics cause of frustration i was frustrated too a lot if i started but i never wrote this kinda topics or started to cry

Imagine building a guitar and then tuning it and then playing it. That's what electronic music is.

Also trying to find someone to do a collab with really helped. I remember when I started I asked tons of people on GHF to work with me. You can learn a lot by just seeing how people do stuff.
I don't think producing electronic music has anything to do with talent. You can take as much time as you need to with it, and there's no physical attribute you might not have that you'd need. Having "musical ears" comes with practice.

Oh man, you have now idea how long it took me to kinda not suck. You just need to practise more. Also listen to hardstyle a lot and maybe take a break for a while...
