Multigroove presents: Masters of the Chapel
On Saturday the 10th of March 2012 the Patronaat is dedicated to a new concept with a new sound, based on one of those old Multigroove traditions that harks back to her turbulent past. During the infamous House of God parties in the Elementenstraat it were the Multi Masters who were allowed to wear the predicate "Masters of the Chapel", on the 10th of March it will be the honor of DJ Thera and his most valued friends and colleagues.
Multigroove has as the godfather of the Dutch hard dance scene always been a promotor of new, hard underground styles. As an example "No Bullshit" grew in the past into a – back then still new - Hardstyle stage with residents like Dana and Pavo, who have emerged from here to the big audiences. Now Multigroove goes back to the basics to specifically promote the hard, raw and industrial alternative; Raw Hardstyle, a naming that almost automatically makes you think of DJ Thera.
Thera and Multigroove are already more than a decade a source of inspiration for each other. Over ten years ago, Brennan & Heart - of which Thera was then part of - was approached by Don Diablo - at that time resident at Multigroove's "The Delicate Sound of Thunder" - for a remix of one of his tracks on Multigroove Records. Soon thereafter they recorded their own release on this label under the alias “Misdome Project” and appeared as a live act on the Multigroove stage. When Thera started his own label Theracords in 2008, his innovative sound was immediately embraced by Multigroove, followed by many gigs and even a complete Theracords area at Ground Zero Festival 2011. With listings in charts around the world an international breakthrough for Thera was inevitable; his new sound now asserts at parties and festivals from Europe to Canada and Australia.
This first edition of "Masters of the Chapel" is being kicked of by Thera with a massive line up with only the best artists with balls from this rough, dark corner of the Hardstyle scene. The top label Fusion Records will be represented by the obscure turntable wizard Titan, while Thera makes one of his favorite producers come over from Italy; The R3belz, responsible for amongst others a thick remix of Thera's track "Distrurbia". With his original DJ sets, Clock Kid was one of the most surprising artists of last year for Thera and more than certainly deserves a place in 'the Chapel'. Of course, Crypsis cannot be missed either given his good relationship with Thera and their joint productions and performances. A program with a sharp serrated edge that guarantees an uncompromising evening without bullshit!
