I reacted: so you take a hammer and a piece of metal and smash it?
He: Yeah, and then I squeze my Parrot, give a kick to my microphone and you got a nice kick.

Well, you should try that :P.

Serious, he really said that (H)
if you see him can you ask him if Parrot is a must have for kicks?
I can squeeze my Hamster but I need to know if it works :+
Have you ever looked at yourself in the eyes of the one you have not become?

Getting a phatt deep kick ain't that hard.

First the instrument choice. Microtonic is a good first pick, but my advice is to get as many different plugins as you can since they all differ soundwise. Drumaxx, Attack, Drumatic3 is all good plugins for the kicks.

Now for the mastering. I'm simply using IL's Maximus VST effect as a bottom, since it gives a very hard compressor that suits hard kicks very very well. On top of it I use the Warbeats kick drum enhancer, a hiphop VST effect that really gets the extra oomph out of the kicks.

The last step is that I use Warbeats level manager to keep the volume down to prevent clipping.

The following example is using this method to master the kick and the bass. For this example, and to speed up things too, I used a few reFX Nexus with the following presets:

DR Hardstyle kicks 4 (Dance drums expansion)
BA Sweepbass 4 (Hardstyle expansion)

Microtonic is a good option if you dont have a lot of experience in creating kicks, but i would suggest a synthesizer plugin (or even better: hardware like the access virus etc). You have more tweaking options and i personally think it sounds better and phatter.
The downside is that it's harder to create a kick with a synthesizer plugin than with Microtonic etc.
I'm sure there are some tutorials on the internet of how to create a cool kick with a synth... ;)

Not totally agree with you here. As Microtonic is a FM synth you can get a really serious bass/kick. after that you can fix this with some fx*coughBPfiltercough*.

Use the plugin you find most attracting.

If you want to know how to create a kick first try some basslines and watch some tuts from pro's like Kamui ( yes he is a hardtrance producer) But his tuts are awesome and very usefull for hardstyle 2

Ok so im sure ive seen a few posts about how people pitch their kicks before but i decided to make a topic

Basically i know most people make their kicks, then sample it and pitch it from there. Usually i dont do this, as i like how my distorted kicks pitch from Sylenth1. But right now i have to make a track for college and ive decided to remake a track, and im trying to make a standard "boing" kick, you know, the sound when it pitches up. Im using FL Studio right now and when i load a sample in the sampler and pitch it, it sounds fucking horrible (loses all its power aswell)

So basically is there any other samplers i should look at? Since the FL sampler is very basic, or is there plugins that can help with pitching?

Edit: Ok I`ve read your post again, i think for your usage Native Instruments Kontakt would be the right choice, made a mistake before ;)

A little explanation bout it, was in hurry when I´ve written the other post :P

In Kontakt you can edit your samples really well, for example the length etc. assigned to a certain note.

So you can say, that the sample sound in a certain way when you press a note, when you press a note higher you can edit it in a way you want, for. example pitch only the tail of the sample or adjust the length. You can assign all attributes you change to different notes.

Try pitching in the timestrech part ;)
It'll pitch your bass without changing it's length, so it'll keep it's drop at the normal place and stuff like that :)
