Can someone tell me the difference between these two? Are they the same except the bottom one is an older design/model?

- Improved gain controller
- Front firing port
- High frequency controller

You need two VGA outs, that one above is just a controller out.

you will need something like this one: (cost around 5€)

BUT WITH THIS I THINK YOU CAN HAVE JUST THE SAME PICTURE ON YOUR SCREENS
so you will end up having 2 monitors, but both with the same desktop.
edit: i googled and yes, with this you can have more screens, but on all you will see the same desktop. i think you dont want that ^^

---->so you have to buy a new graphiccard which has two outs (looks like this:)

(you'll need just a DVI to VGA adapter which is normally included in a graphiccard)

what mainboard do you have ?

if you re not gaming with your pc, you can get a graphiccard for around 70 £.

just build it in your pc and install the drivers which are incluced by the graphiccard ;D

edit:
i think you can get something for 20 pounds on ebay :p

hm but a 2 months old pc should have "normally" 2 vga outs. not so nice...

ok until xmas are a few weeks left, maybe you can get 20 bucks (on ebay there good ones for 20-30p)

but jeah one do it (anyways i ve got a 24" and dont want to miss my small 17" :P)

np ;)

edit :

no :D, its just a adapter if you have a grapihccard with only DVI outputs but your screen only supports VGA. you need 2 vgs outputs on your pc, this one needs one vga from your pc and give you one output, so its no different.
