Do you believe in a creator (God)?

Post by Soundphase »

I feel that it's fine to believe in a creator. I don't disrespect you if you do, but personally I feel comfortable to believe in evolution and also to believe that there's things we will never know for certain.
But it's also a possibility that if we had a creator (or group of creators), they could be dead.
So then what if "God" is long passed? nobody really thinks that far I guess?
I don't believe the theory that we exclusively evolved from chimpanzees. I think we had another ancient ancestor and their origins are unknown.

Nobody believes we evolved from chimpanzees. We only share the same ancestors with many steps in between.

To answer the topic's question: No, i don't believe in a creator. There aren't that many unanswered questions in science, so there isn't the necessity to bring a higher power into this. Just using ockham's razor ;)

No, I think religions are used as a reason by people because there is no explanation as for why some things are the way they are, so they can just say 'because of God' and thus killing any discussion. Religion also causes a lot of war, drama and fights. And the worst thing is them stating their opinions as facts and trying to convert non-religious people. Kinda like vegans.

No, I don't. I've never seen a glimpse of evidence that would made be believe in one. All the claims of gods existence are either self contradictory, based on water or simply utter nonsense. All the big questions of life I have ever had have been sufficiently explained to me by evolutionary biology and science. On the top of that, organized religion creeping into politics has been and is the greatest threat to democracy, freedom and human rights all over the world.

No idea. If a creator does exist they have a universe to care about. Our little situation on this floating boulder, having evolved from simple lifeforms that somehow endured millennia of hostile conditions, further evolving into primates that we came from, into a creature with enough intelligence that our little rock is our only universe compared to the vast emptiness that surrounds us. We are the anomaly, and there's no telling why no other planet shares such advancements as us. Whether that was the doing of a grand creator, or by total chance and fortune, it's still pretty sick that we exist to discuss this and post these funny little smiley dudes created by another cosmic miracle (H)

I only believe in things that I can see, smell or touch. Religion is like a cancer and shouldn't have anything to do with politics. If people want to believe in something, e.g. an imaginary guy in a white robe, fine, their choice, not mine, but do it somewhere so that it doesn't affect my life. :fist:

As an agnostic and deist, yes and no.
If we're talking about cosmic entities beyond any possible human understanding, for sure! But as a single god in religious terms, not a chance. I find devout cultures and rituals in some religions fascinating and can partake in them but I am a non-believer.

I'm an atheist because I personally didn't have any experiences that cannot be explained reasonably and I also believe science already have and will have a lot of answers to occurring questions. I see the coherent worldview of those religious people who think like a certain god is glueing the things of the world together making it as a whole but I'm just unable to believe this is the way our world works. Or those gods are the only cure for your problems so you can turn to him/her/them whenever you want to.

And yeah, certain religious beliefs should definitely stay away from politics because they can modify the constitution according to their supposed interpretation of Bible or idk lol

I believe in a god (creator) as this all encompassing consciousness that lives inside everything in existence. I believe we were born as humans to experience life and by doing so, god expands, experiences and creates through us. He is a creator after all.

I also believe he stands above light and dark, and that the whole concept of light and dark is misinterpreted. Light means lifeforce. The pure source that is the creator is the most purest form of lifeforce, and the more u "stand away" from this, the less life force u get. Less life force, means more darkness (neutrally speaking), more corruption and wickedness. Think of it as a plant that doesn't get water or sunshine, it will shrivel, turn ugly, die off - because it's not getting what it needs. The same principle works with god (creator) and life. I think Satan is just a being that got deprived of life force, just like all the demons.
Speaking of, I also believe in different dimensions and dimensional beings. Again a "demon" is simply a being that got deprived from it's life force. I also think the whole concept of aliens is exaggerated, it's just other forms of life that exist out there, both good and bad.

I think religion is very narrow minded practice, but the key things like the bible, praying etc are real. It's got to do with connection between the self and the creator. "believe in him" means strengthening your bond with the entity that created and lives inside you. You can't loose connection with it, but you can strengthen or weaken it (and most people do weaken it, by means of distraction, deceit and idol worship. The material world with satanic/material worship, hence satan the deceiver.)

And then there is witchcraft, occult and new age, which for most part are acts of trying to exploit natural forces (like life force and other energies from source) for self benefit, or in worst case, against others.

That's my view, hope someone will take a moment to absorb what I just shared.
