In the current climate, (ESPECIALLY with how they massacred The Wheel of Time!) I can't get hyped about this.

Maybe if you wrote some music you wouldn't need 6 kick drums!
So they have rights to the entire fucking 2nd age withh all its amazing stories, legends, kingdoms, places, characters and yet they still gonna go down with the damn rings story. Ffs.
I mean alright, still going to give it a sbot but I'm not expecting much, hopefully this wkll not become just a lotr themed GoT cashgrab

Been waiting for this for, well, good 5 years since they announced it. I used to be a huge Tolkien fanboy for a long time (well, still kinda am but I havent read Silmarilion/Tales in quite a while) so I have been hugely torn inside while anticipating this. Is this going to be a holywoodized Tolkien with forced cheap romance and cheesy dialogues like Hobbit 2 and Hobbit 3 movies were? Or is this going to be an awesome deep dive into the Tolkien lore with a lot of the familiar sounding names, events and places finally getting a visual shape?
Well, i still don't know. Looks like it's just too early to say. For certain I can say the first 2 episodes did not disappoint visually, the atmosphere set up so far is great and some of the storylines being drawn look interesting as hell. The one thing I would call a downside is the Elrond casting, jesus christ that actor is annoying as fuck. But i'm full of hopes, this could be the beginning of something great. Please, please don't fuck it up.

So after rhe first season,
Damn this is a great show! I abaolutely loved this. Great visuals, awesome acting performances (Elendil, Durin and Halbrand take the prize). Keeping the Tolkien vibe and yet not hollywoodizing it too much, like they did with the Hobbit movies. I seriously dont get the hate this gets. And im saying that as quite likely the biggest Tolkien freak on this board, Ive read Silmarillion and all History volumes like half a dozen times. Probably eould agree that the one issie the show has is the pacing, they certainly should work on that a bit for the next season
