if it cannot be saved I think this marks the end of following hardstyle to me - let this be the worst case scenario tho
If it can not be saved, lets do something new, I‘m thinking about buying the harderstate.net domain
Probably gonna cost a few thousand..

Edit: nvm misread, thought you wanted to buy this site.

there are active hardstyle discord channels though, and many big names are in those channels too

True. But it's just not the same.

discord really isnt for everyone. just as reddit isnt. They both lack a proper structure you have for releases, tracks, events etc here. unless you are glued to them 24/7 it's basically impossible to come there once every 2 weeks and check what new stuff has been released and what new tunes have been played. Not to mention you would probably need to be following X different discord rooms....

btw https://hardstyle-releases.com/ still alive ;)

It is what has been keeping my dying interest in this genre somewhat alive for the past 2 years. I will always love the early, nu, modern classic, stuff, always cherish my records and eventually buy new (old) ones but if harderstate is gone I just don't feel like keeping up with the zoomer reddit/discord crowd that unironically enjoys crap like GPF. I will probably just follow a handful of artists and labels on instagram and check the new stuff once in a blue moon...
Unfortunately, I have to agree with this. I feel pretty disconnected with the scene already, without the forum, I don't know what will happen with my music routine...

This is also something I've been thinking about for the last months. I am not really happy with the scene at the moment but this forum at least keeps a certain spirit alive. Without it I am afraid to get further detached from that music and I hope that I am wrong and the circumstance that events can take place again could also help coming closer to this lovely music. Nevertheless this forum always played a huge role in it.

emre or someone, where do you even begin on reddit?

it's just random videos, snips, party flyers, podcasts, ids, livesets, spotify links - like is this split into sections? new releases, old releases?

maybe juno, beatport, bandcamp will just be the new forums. maybe they can create a forum section. this is so unorganized. just scrolled to a mel c frenchcore remix that sounds like a fart, in the hardstyle reddit

Reddit is awesome and im a frequent visitor (mostly other subreddits though) but it can never fully substitute a good phpbb board and. As a whole (basically an enormous giant mix between a board and a social network) it is divided into subreddits, something like 'forums', dedicated to anything from music, genres, bands, random fanbases of movies/franchises, through series, comics, memes, work unions, relationship advice, collectors communities, politics to porn, weirdass gore shit etc. Most of it is rather civil i would say. There is a hardstyle subreddit which is pretty active and if this place is gone then its i think the best chance you got to have an online hardstyle community. But its still vastly different. As you said, its basically just a long feed of random posts with comments. They sometimes have 'flares', which is something like labels you can sort through. Those can be custom from subreddit to subreddit, so with the hardstyle subreddit its stuff like 'new track' or 'unreleased' etc. If you are looking for something standardized and well sorted like this place then i have bad news, not happening. And thats imo the biggest problem with reddit as a substitute - its basically a social network focused on 'upvotes' and trending stuff that noone will remember in 3 days time. Would be practically impossible to for example get a decent overview of whats been released in the past month or a nice list of IDs just played on the recent festival. Not to mention the general crowd over there is vastly different than here. I think http://www.hardstyle-releases.com might be your best shot if you are looking for something a bit more organized.
