Coronavirus (COVID-19) Topic
Re: Coronavirus (COVID-19) Topic
Outdoors events you don’t need to do a test, just indoor ones.
They will. For now we're still kinda in the aftermath of the pandemic, so it's up to you to decide whether to go to events abroad again. There's a big risk, yes, so weigh the pros and consRocko wrote:With this in mind, to be 100% certain I'd have to isolate before the event to make sure I don't catch it.lilfrenchidiot wrote:I mean if you're positive for the event it's probably better that you don't enter hahaRocko wrote:Pfft, complete horseshit. Imagine flying to the venue and being positive just hours before the event...
Kinda defeats the purpose of a holiday, doesn't it? I don't want to live in fear.
I just wish they'd let it go for good.

The view from here is that it's over. Almost all restrictions rescinded, there is a date set to rescind what remains and to disband the covid taskforce. I've read in one of our tabloids that the situation in Europe was considered and that our authorities expect that the continent will do away with the certificate altogether. it otherwise makes travel in and out of the country very difficult because with no swiss certificate 4 million people would have to get on whatever the EU has. after CH announced this, austria and germany also did or wanted to celebrate freedom days which I almost spat out tea over.
divisions deeply remain. people are very very entrenched. this lasted 1.5 years here and will take 1.5 years to heal politically and socially for people's guards to drop and 5-10 years to heal financially. or we could all be back in lockdown in August, these are politicians. I've had some fascinating encounters with people who would like to restrict my freedom after the government lifted restrictions and my conclusion is the way out of the crisis is kindness. far too entrenched now but just being kind is going to make someone's decade, on both sides.
what I dislike very much is nightclubs either trying to pretend what they said and did never happened or trying to pretend like their arm was twisted.

surely you only need a RAT test negative to get in, not a PCR one?
Oh well, if that's what it takes to have a full uninterrupted festival season, so be it.
If there is a shutdown in May or June or July, in Europe the scene will teeter on the edge of survival in my view. Not having income from Defqon, Dominator, Mysteryland, etc will be devastating for a 3rd year in a row
Just hoping since the Australian Omicron wave was in our summer, that we can have a relatively calm and uninterrupted winter of club gigs (and australian football of course!)

It's a very unnecessary thing to burden the healtcare to begin with, and if you add all this unncessary testing to it, it becomes more clear. The Blaster wrote:The view from here is that it's over.
