what is a coronavirus pass?

In switzerland, there exists a certificate where the government encourages people to get covid, test on the regular or be vaccinated. As far as I know, there is no mention of full vaccination because 2 shots is certainly not full

I can only speak for my country and have no opinion on what other countries should do but many people are against a two-tiered society and I see a lot of things going underground, many underground parties popping up. good thing for me, probably not what governments would want but hey, politicians have floundered for 1.5 years and never got the mood right in europe.

does anyone have any info about new year parties in the works? I speculatively booked some flights to NL in the hope that something might be happening but looks like everything is being announced last minute

not been across the North Sea since march 2020 :(

So, has there been any sort of a response from the dutch government regarding the Unmute Us protests? Got to agree it was pretty damn ridiculous to see the photos from F1 event bearing in mind the fact festivals are banned, huge wtf. Kinda sick of sport events always getting an exception in this pandemic tbh, like it's some sort of a higher form of entertainment then e everything else.

Well, i'm not really agreeing with you on that. Not many as you think. i don't care about a two-tiered society. I just want the life closest that it was before covid. And it will not be like that till this fuck**** covid is not under control. And the only way to do that is with vaccination. If you don't want it, your choice, but don't complain if you can't do half of the things.

it's an intelligent comment, left space for others to respond and thought about the question for a while, read this argument quite a bit over the last few weeks. here's my take. you think it's horseshit, say it. but don't send me thinly veiled threats. i don't think that's who we are as a community.

while I can't know, I can only assume your line of work has been affected. people out of work, severely affected by measures, affected mental health by the aforementioned etc., it's terrible. I see people who really want to work, who want their livelihoods back because they truly love what they do, but I don't think we are going to get there by corralling people against their will or the kind of discrimination like what we are seeing. and we can debate semantics and how you define discrimination but I've never seen anything like it in this country in my lifetime.

it's a hard problem, that's no question. the great minds of our time are no where closer to agreement on what this is, what should be done etc. so what they've done is sort of the worst mix of delegating policing downwards while centralizing decision making. just wait for the knock on effects of that, you may or may not like the two, three, four tiered society measures now and in the future will create but it will affect many communities and livelihoods. that's obvious because the way people think about this has no ceiling and there's no legitimate reason why this should not be carried over. I wonder what people would think if the government did a study and found hard music events spreads corona more than other events, people are too close together etc etc. you'd marginalize people based on their music preferences, that being one tiny example.

It took us about 40 years to grapple with how to deal with smoking and the effects of that on society, it took us about 4 months to think about (mandatory) vaccinations, all the while ignoring all the other measures that could be used to mitigate and/or just discarding them, for example social distancing just falling by the wayside after about 3 months because people just ignored that. vaccination is not the only way, not least because vaccinate people seem to still spread covid-19, the unspoken pandemic of vaccinated people not getting tested, not social distancing, spreading covid-19 being underreported. vaccination will also not end restrictions nor what the government will ask people to do but if you want to believe that, fine.

the point being, have you thought about the consequences of such social action, because it might not work in your favour?

do think a lot of europe will be locked down again before Xmas.

Meanwhile, australia's worst performing state re: the virus Victoria is opening up as a whole on Friday coming (30 oct) with an average of 1900 cases a day. All the parts of australia without any virus (Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane, Hobart) will need to open up before Xmas and the virus will run rampant. Think Aus will get to 10/15k cases a day by January (joining the rest of the world finally) LOL
