Hi guys,
Have an urge to try my hand at mixing. purely for my own pleasure. I wondered how to start, what tutorials to watch, what equipment to buy?
Anything that points me in that direction is very much appreciated!
While i've used virtual dj before and understand the concept of beat matching, totally new to me so appreciate any links or tips for a beginner

In terms of gear I’d go for a controller as it’s relatively cheap. Numark for ex.
If you understand beat matching, to be honest when it comes to Hard Dance Music that’s kind of all you need haha

Aye, Controller is cheap.
Tip though. There is several software's for controllers out there but the biggest one is Serato and Rekordbox.
I would use an metafor for this and call rekordbox for Apple and Serato for Android.
Rekordbox controllers (PioneerDJ) are industry Standard but often more expensive.
Serato Controllers varies with lot of different companies, it is the most accessible.
Which one is better? Personal choice, Rekordbox has better library organization while Serato has better stability.
But these are pretty minor and often comes down to personal taste.
If you think about going Rekordbox, I would highly recommend Pioneer DDJ-400

If you looking to start with Serato with a controller, I would recommend:
https://serato.com/dj/hardware/hercules ... npulse-500
These two controllers are quite powerful in their own right, and you don't get any cheap stuff that breaks after 6 month of use.
If you are interested in learning how to DJ in general, there are plenty of sites who has tutorials
Would recommend: https://digitaldjtips.com and https://wearecrossfader.co.uk/
Good luck!
