Re: Unpopular opinions
I know what the trends are but why would you not want to own your music??
Sorry, but searching down rare tracks/labels (through which you find new music and make new friends on the journey) trumps clicking a few buttons to get the new cool playlist on Spotify.
This must be the same vinyl/digital discussion that was had over 10 years ago, but I just can't wrap my head around it

THIS, finally someone said it. It mostly happens with anti's tho. 'Drop'[] wrote:New fans need to stop calling a climax or an intro a "drop". It's dumb and annoying and shows how warped the minds of the new generation has gotten from listening to trap.

Speaking of "climax", does anybody know when was this word used for the first time? I doubt it's far as old as the event Qlimax - I don't even know it has anything to do with it though

This shit reminds me of every fukcing EDM (and not just EDM but mostly) DJ wannabe MC today who has to yell "1,2,3, let's go" on every fucking trakc good damnit, i wish they forbid the microphones on the festivalsceero wrote:Yea well plenty of artists feed it themselves.
With all those 'DROP 1, 2 OR 3??' IG stories. Hate this shit. Its reducing the essence of the entire music to fucking 20 seconds. Oh, wait.

but regarding the word "DROP"...yeah, feeling is mutual

The DJ spins a galaxy of black vinyl, for the gods that came to dance!

When someone does "drop only" Hardstyle or Hardcore festival vids and it's only 11 minutes out of an hour-long setceero wrote:Yea well plenty of artists feed it themselves.

You really are obsessed with Trap ain't you ?[] wrote:New fans need to stop calling a climax or an intro a "drop". It's dumb and annoying and shows how warped the minds of the new generation has gotten from listening to trap.
Trap is as intricate as Hardstyle but I'm not gonna spend time trying to convince y'all

Gatekeeping is voor kankeridiooten
I don't care for trap at all. I simply made a very true observation about how the new scene has been influenced by the dubstep and trap idea that tracks need a "drop" to be entertaining at all. It's called being up front and honest. In case you haven't noticed, anything that grows significantly in popularity is eventually influenced by mainstream media in order to keep its appeal. As a lifelong musician, I think I have the credibility to voice an informed opinion on this matter - say what you will about this.lilfrenchidiot wrote:You really are obsessed with Trap ain't you ?[] wrote:New fans need to stop calling a climax or an intro a "drop". Trap is not at all intricate. It is hype music made without passion or imagination. This dissonance is then showed down the throats of anyone who engages with any type of popular media. Today's hardstyle sets are just playlists because the tracks are build-ups with an eventual "drop" made to generate hype on Instagram. Go back 10 years and get to know the underground club sound. It was much better and it appealed only to ravers.
why you talking so much bullshit then[] wrote:lilfrenchidiot wrote:I think I have the credibility to voice an informed opinion on this matter - say what you will about this.[] wrote:New fans need to stop calling a climax or an intro a "drop".
