Don't get this wrong, I rather have millennium hardcore than the new thing. But it doesn't mean something is going on. Music stays on the move all the time because the older generations will stop partying sooner or later, so as an artist you want to stay fresh and bring new people in, otherwise there comes a time you will have no crowd anymore but a bunch of 40 year olders who are still going hard. Perfectly respectable as well, but if music is your main income, it's not ideal.
Also.. As a listener I rather have something that is moving in one direction. It's just the way all genres work. I might or might not like the current direction, but I prefer that to a stuck genre.
I guess this has some truth to it. I try and stay in touch with all the new music by downloading all the liveset and listening during my workouts. I must say I really like the new hardstyle and rawstyle. But I can't help but feel that hardcore hasn't really found a way to re-invent itself in 2019. Way less creative than before imo.

I mean could we hear this masterpiece in 2019 ?

BTW. Guys if you don't know the melodyst check them out

I don't understand why they aren't at the top of the hardcore venues right now next to angerfist. Their productions are so good.

Just a theory, but probably because people their sound is "too complex" for the crowd.
Producers from MoH, Neophyte and Dogfight are popular because of that.
They stay relevant to what current crowd wants but also they have the best marketing.

You think this track of The Melodyst is complex ?! :? It's not really, plus this weird ravypsycorestep mixture is somewhat a trend in hardstyle. And that's the renewal of hardcore you're hoping for ? I'd rather see it dead. :+

Personally I don't, I love that track.
I meant the standard crowd who aren't interested in the styles or subgenres in particular.
For them, high tempo and overdistorted kicks are enough :+

probably not "that" exact masterpiece because that style is outdated, but we could hear tracks that are masterpieces within the current paradigm. there is some uptempo that is really good actually, and some uptempo tracks that became classics of the hardcore genre by now. sure the specific demographics that hate uptempo won't accept that too easily but it's just the way it is. facts over feels.
hmu if u agree

I believe that you guys are a bit overreacting. Yes, hardcore is becoming mainstream nowadays, and uptempo like it or not is pushing right through it! If you like hardcore you are constantly searching and finding tunes that speak to you! Just because we have 10-20 mainstream artists that compete for who will make the most viral kick at the fastest tempo, doesn't mean that we have to follow!

But bare in mind Hardcore is a very generic term nowadays, you can find hardcore at 150 bpm and you can find hardcore at 250bpm.
There are soul and dedication in hardcore but you need to find it among the hundreds of tunes being released every month!

I like what we have today, a scene that is more diverse than ever before if I don't like one artist there are numerous others to explore.

Yeah I completely changed my mind this summer after going to a couple festivals and listening to the q-base livesets. Hardcore is just as strong as ever. I had a blast listening to some of the newcomers like deadly guns, n-vitral and the melodyst, as well as stuff like access one, anime, tha playah, angerfist and destructive tendencies. Older artists like neophyte and paul elstak also found an excellent way to stay relevant.

I'm pumped!

That being said, frenchcore (sefa) fucking sucks!!! (6)
