DEFQON.1 2018 - Now i'm finally a WEEKEND WARRIOR
It's good that they took the time to re-sync the fireworks with the songs.
Those drone footages are next level, holy
I really don't see how that thing didn't get shot by a firework tbh, some images are soooo close. That shame edit was also one of the best moments with the live part, not to mention the lazer show during TNT, just wow.
Overall a bit disappointed by the quality of the fireworks but I think the stage layout wasn't to allow for shows as good as previous years (2017 had the best fireworks show imo). But as always the production is off the charts.

Which is not a criticism of anyone, just that there’s a whole lot of overheads that are part of running a festival that a lot of people have no idea about.
I just want to second this and give my two cents and a bit of insight about it.
Beginning with August of last year i had the honor and opportunity to be the project lead of a 5000+ visitors festival in Germany with 12 bands in total playing from 15:00 to 24:00 on 2 Stages. We decided to stream the whole festival and displaying the stream via a LED-Wall at the event itself. We had around 15 cameras - mobile as well as stationary. I can tell you from honest experience that stuff like this is more expensive than you would assume.
We were in the lucky position to have the studios for mixing audio and video at our university where the festival took place as well as a mobile broadcast vehicle we got for free from a partner-university for music and stuff.
Additionally, we had a shit-ton of big industry partners who were kind enough to sponsor us with A LOT of equipment we otherwise couldn't afford since we worked non-profit (and the event already did cost around 100.000€). Just as an example - one company we had as a partner which provided us with cameras and infrastructure would normally have costed around 25.000€, we got it for ~700€ transport only. Paying regularly for the stream would have easily doubled our costs.
I can't even imagine the amount of work and ressources it takes to stream a festival like Defqon with such an extent of options and quality. Especially at a location where you have to set up the whole infrastructure yourself. The kilometres of fiber have to be insane.

So to everyone complaining about five fucking bucks - take a second guess and try to understand that theres a lot going on behind livestreaming such an event like all the operators and directors, the cameras, equipment and infrastructure which needs to be accounted for.
This year was any information in festivals booklet after DQ party about event during ADE like it was last year about P1 event hint?
