I got really angry while reading this. God damn politics with this stupid nonsense called war on drugs. Really sad day for hardstyle. I'm happy I had the chance to visit DQ AU in 2014 and I'm really hoping that there's slight chance the festival will return somewhere in Australia. Probably won't be in NSW, but maybe Victoria or QLD..keep fighting for your rave right mates!

Thankfully the club scene and smaller event scene is great. I think it will survive well without Defqon and might weed out who are fans of the music and who are casual "omg its a doof festival" fans
Still devastating though. Aussie hardstyle DJs, fans and promoters are all crushed in their social media posting right now.

it's fucked up, really. Even though I have a largely liberal attitude towards all drugs, there is noone else to blame but the kids taking festivals and this scene just as an oportunity to get fucked up. I wouldn't even blame this on the politics in this case tbh, if you do than i don't think you can fully grasp the amount of public pressure they get under events like these. Yes, refusing drug safety tests is dumb, but i dont think thats the core issue here.
