Q-Base from UK

Post by Jammy »

Hi,

I've been to Defqon, Decibel + Qlimax before and all were pretty easy from the UK, I've always flown to Amsterdam Schiphol and then got the train, without any problems at all.

I'd really like to go to Q-Base this year but I'm not sure the best way to go about it. Has anyone here travelled from the UK before?

From a quick look I can a few options:
1) Fly to Airport Weeze, but there aren't any flights from anywhere near me on the Saturday
2) Fly to somewhere in Holland, such as Eindhoven and book an Event Travel bus.
3) Fly to Dusseldoff but not sure how to get to and from Weeze.

Any ideas from anyone who has done it?

To option 3: from Düsseldorf you could book an event travel bus aswell, via HardTours.de (I think the easiest way to book would be to contact them via E-Mail or Phone, I dont know if they have an english website)

Great, thank you. I'll look into that.

if you fly to Dusseldorf, you can just get a train to weeze - there is a free shuttle bus from weeze train station to the party, this is better as more flexibility

would go that way myself but the flights from Newcastle to Dusseldorf are supremely expensive for some reason so I will probs just fly to schiphol and take it from there

Ok great, I didn’t know about the shuttle from Weeze station.

Flights aren’t great to Düsseldorf for me either, and Eindhoven not looking too great as well, so reckon it might be Schiphol for me too as loads of flights go there.

What would you do after? Sleep on the train / coach back to Amsterdam or find somewhere to sleep nearer Q-Base?

Things like Qlimax I do like going back to the hotel nice and local for a decent sleep before the trek home :-)

And those who think that flying to Dusseldorf is expensive, after my calculations it is still cheaper and more convenient than flying elsewhere and using other public transportation, as it is not all that cheap there + it would require more time, take that in consideration.

Actually you’re right. I was looking up flying to Weeze before and that was expensive but going to Dusseldorft international from Manchester isn’t too bad.

£100 flying out late Friday (so can still work that day) coming back late Sunday afternoon.

Just need to find somewhere cheap to stay in Dusseldorf and work out how to get to the venue (maybe train or booking German event travel).

Actually similar flights from Birmingham (which is closer than Manchester for me) is £70. Cheaper than Schiphol anyway and much easier.

For cheaper stay some hostels are always a good option, or airbnb etc, and for getting to the venue, I bet that on Q-dance page there will be suggestions when it will get closer to the festival time.. I wouldn't get too worried about that to be honest :)
