Do not forget to go back to camp and have a beer every once in a while. Classic rookie mistake to be at the festival area 100% of the time and then being to tired to actually enjoy anything in the end. Sometimes, less is more! :) Befriending the neighbors over a beer is also really nice and can make you friends for many events to come.

Don't forget to bring a flag, always fun to represent and meet others from your country!

Power hour and the endshows are crazy, make sure to catch them!

I don't know if it's a swiss thing, but I always see people stick to others from their country. It's the worst with people from here... They travel together, they camp together, they basically stick together for the whole festival. What is the purpose of going to a festival if you're not wanting to meet people outside of your group? I mean if I wanted to be surrounded by swiss people all the time I could also just stay here :\

Don't get me wrong - it's beautiful to see all the flags of the places where people come from! :) It's just the swiss behaviour that makes me wonder sometimes...

I am from Finland, so I can take care of drinking enough fluids :p xD

Flag i guess is mandatory. But I agree that it is nice to meet other nationalities, and it's one of the best things about festivals, meeting new people! Actually I met some people from Swiss in one festival. At some point I got a Swiss flag from someone from Swiss. I of course returned the flag, but at least they were not just with the Swiss :p

Is there something Defqon traditions that you should know? Like having to drink something special or eat something or to go to a particular place or take a tattoo etc. You know, any crazy traditions?

Traditions? Mmm... bringing your old and weared down dance sneakers to the shoe shrine? Not really a long standing tradition yet but who knows?

i wouldn't take a cab since it's overpriced but yes, train. Amsterdam isn't super far away from Biddinghuizen. For future ease; check http://www.ns.nl, you can put where you're leaving from on the left and where you want to go on the right, and it will show you the times train leave and the routes you take :D

thanks but i mean transport like bus...
i know train in the nederland (and also how to use the ns.nl site or their app) but it's not helpful for defqon because when u get to a station near defqon then there isn't a bus to take you to the festival

i mean if there is a bus transport like event travel (i've seen on their site and there isn't yet)

Take train to Dronten, when you walk down the stairs from the station you walk straight in the line for the shuttle bus to Defqon :)
