It's actually more like a hardcore track. It reminds me of an oldschool track. I like it, but yeah the mix is bad and you could maybe add some elements to it. Especially in the break.

@paahhh; I do like the atmospehere, but you need to work on your kick, needs more power and as raven said mix could do more work as well

Intro Im not sure is good or not

NRx Hardstyle wrote:@Dhamiri; Really interesting concept, mixdown is a bit not quite there, the hardkick is way in the background imo, but the overall oldschool vibe is really awesome. Keep up the good work!

@Xelnadu; I do love the melo, remids me of actual classical music really awesome stuff! The kick needs a lot of work, the structure and stuff like that as well, but yea, you got a great start!

@Neko; As always awesome and still loving that break!

Next up something "euphoric"(?)

Awesome melody man! And the lead synth is pretty present as well, it only sounds a little bit like the highs are being compressed too hard, but that could be a soundcloud issue.
paahhh wrote:@xelnadu Loving the melody on that one man! I'm still pitching in Cool Edit Pro (Old School, I know..) But keep messing around with different methods of pitching. You'll find one that you like, but in my opinion i think it sounds fine.

I haven't produced hardstyle in a looooong time. Here's a rawstyle track I'm working on right now. Mix is a pretty terrible, ears still getting used to this. But please tell me what you think. Vocals, kick, lead all made by me.

Holy sh*t nice buildup and break man. The mix is pretty decent really? I really like it! Maybe the kick could be a bit more aggressive.

I actually never posted here, and I never finished a hardstyle track before (I have a very hard time finishing tracks) and I normally create House music, this is my first real attempt to hardstyle.

It's going to be a bootleg of Weak by AJR. It is ofcourse a snippet. The song structure is pretty much done, I feel like making the break longer and kind of cinematic as it progresses. But a lot of things still need to be done. For example;
- the vocal is still dry
- need to make an intro
- I want to fill up the breakdown
- need to create a different buildup for the second climax
- still need to build an outro
- I want to replace my up/downlifters, currently they are being used in a template kind of way and they are pretty static.

After that, mixing has to be corrected (mixing and de-essing the vocal, fitting in the leads, adding earcandy, sharpening the lead etc etc)

But anyways! As it is still in beta, I actually want to know what you guys think of it.

Voila!

First , nice build-up. I really like the feeling in this track and reminds me of the good old hardcore. To be honest , your mix could be a lot better indeed.

-Try to check the hats, claps , i think they are too loud for the rest of the elements in the track.
- Vocals are not clean enough and are a bit too loud. I think they also sound too high , lower the high frequenties.
- The upcoming melody with the filter is very cool but at a certain point it sounds too much. Try to do this a little bit more flowing.
- The melody is not straight in ya face enough :) Little bit less reverb and volume up. Maybe try to give it a bit more body with a stereo expander.
- The kick is really not good enough for a hardstyletrack. The kick is more hardcore style indeed. What could help is try to use a hardstyle kick from a samplepack and hear the difference. Offcourse making a hardstylekick from scratch isn't done in a couple of hours.

Overall feeling of the track is good but for sure it needs some work on mixing and the use of samples!
Good luck and hoping to see/hear a further version of this track!

@Hayway: Lead sounds very compressed, there is barely any like punch in it, I'dd say you need to redesign it a bit more with decay and sustain tweaks. Otherwise pretty decent mixdown, kick is a bit too much in the back, and some sidechaining of the highs wouldnt hurt that much. Overall pretty a nice start for a track

Something I feel has potential, but dont know how to build the midintros and outros

@NRx Hardstyle:
I really like the melody and the vocal, but imo the buildup before the kick comes in could be a little bit more powerfull.
The kick is really nice also.

@NRx Hardstyle:
I really like the intro, it has a nice vibe and sufficient power.
The melody is great, but i hear some "pumping" in the lead,
maybe there is something wrong with compression / eq'ing / sidechaining?
I'm really bad at this topics myself, so i can't specify this any further.

okay next up my track:
i'm trying to build my own defqon 1 australia anthem ( i will not submit it, since i'm from germany, it's just for fun / practice )
i know there is much work to do with the compression, equing, mixdown and last but not least mastering,
but i really don't know where to start.
Also i need to know if the "vibe" and feeling ist "anthem-like".

@AbstractReality

the mixdown sounds good so far, as i can hear. it has that anthemic vibe altho the melody sounds a bit dull for me. it could use some extra variation. also, are the notes okay in the second climax? it's as if there are some dissonant notes in there. maybe it's just me. the kick has sufficient power, so all in all, decent track.

here's my newest stuff:

Nice feeling you created there! The melody you created is perfect for a Defqon anthem. the intro part is awesome, the only weird thing (might be me) is that youre creating an orchestral sound which is supposed to fill an entire room but doesn't succeed in doing that. It feels empty, like it got put on the background. Could be what you wanted though ;) Outro is cool, it gets me into a groove which is good.

Furthermore keep going! It's much better then my shit for sure :+

@Nerz
Those vocals are amazing <3 Melody is really clean and well made, lead sound is perfect for it. Intro feels empty in my opinion, maybe add some more sounds, screeches or something else? I hate the kick, not my kind of kick (not that i can make kicks myself lol) but if you think it works go with it!

So I once again tried to complete a song and actually succeeded for once (yay)
It once again teached me how hard making all this music is, it's so much more then just making a cool melody in your piano roll. Furthermore I can't make my own kicks so I used the D-Tunez Da Tweekaz kick.

Feedback is higly apprieciated <3

Nice idea. I don't really like the vocals that pitched but thats a matter of taste. The piano with vocals is good but when the actual synth comes in I don't really have a 'wow' feeling, or am impressed. It's a bit flat, could stand out more. When the climax drops, I like the vocals with the delay going round. The kick and bass could stand out more in that part though. Same goes out to the 2nd climax, the kick and bass (especially the 1st kick) don't come out as powerfull as you might want. Nice track none the less! Needs a little work.

I made this 'fun' remix of Money Talks Bullshit Walks recently, just 4 fun. Wonder what you guys think of it:

@AbstractReality now that's really good sound design! There are a few mixes you could do mix the kick better into the song, but not too much. Overall I like the synth used and the oldschool kick really adds that needed crowd effect. Good job and good luck with it !

I am gonna leave a preview of a melody i had stuck in my head for some time. The synths used are not polished or mixed down so excuse the amateur sound.
