It's far from finished. You tail has no character, it doesn't cruch or anything. I sounds like you put one distortion and called it a day. You should distort it more and play with EQ, lots of EQ. Go watch tutorial on youtube to understand what you have to do (Frontliner and Audiofreq ones are great to begin with).

Same goes for your punch, it sounds like a lightly distorted 909 punch, work on it more until it sounds good.

And more importantly, compare it to professional kicks, you'll directly hear what is wrong.

Cheers , I know what I need to do now. CPU usage is my main problem , when attempting to run countless VSTs. Gonna distort the shit out of it using adobe , camelphat etc. and EQ like you said. But also to compare it I haven't taken that approach yet , which I should of.

Yeah, CPU usage can be a problem if you have a fairly old computer. But unless your computer is as old as me, I'm pretty sure it can manage several EQs and distortion. And when it starts to run low on free CPU, just bounce what you've done so far and start again with the audio file.

@Netris, fairly good quick dudeson. Pitches nice, clean punch. Only thing I miss is the real power. Gj man.
@undecided, your old school kick is quite empty and plain tbh. But keep it up. U need to get some crunch in there man!!!!!

This is what I produced from like 11 to 5 in the morning :D

@undecided - You're defo new to this aren't you? Go watch audiofreq's masterclass, you'll get a good grasp of what a kick should sound like. Good luck!

@sequence7 - VERY NICE MY MAN, KEEP IT UP!!

@djspeed87 - imo kick should be a bit brighter (it's a bit too bassy), but otherwise it's very usable!

Here's my kick, really proud of this one, and actually I think it's my best kick yet!!
Raw kicks should sound like spitting something furiously followed by the sound of dogs barking

@Undecided - Far from finished, needs much more eqing, disting, layering, reverb, timestretching etc. I recommend you watching Da Daze's kick tutorials on Youtube, they helped me out a lot.
@Sequence7 - Nice work!
@Netris - It has a good sound but needs more work (see my feedback to Undecided). It also needs a stronger punch.
@The RaveN - It pitches very nicely. Could possibly use some extra layer maybe but otherwise nice work!

Long time since I posted here but I used to post every now and then. These are 2 of my recent kicks (well the second one is like a year old but w/e :+)

@soepa both sound quite nice on their own but it feels like your mixdown is a bit messy and too sharp in the mids.

I made this kick out of a fart of mine. First you hear it without processing and further on with.

@Neoking : that's very funny :p

@djspeed : very good, some quality kick here

Been working on this one for quite a while. Tok is not yet where I want it to be and there probably are a few adjustement needed here and there, but all in all that my best kick so far.

And it needs a little more punch, but I worked to much on it so I'm taking a break :p
