Stop thinking so much about correctly this, correctly that. You won't get a single percent better as a producer until you start tweaking knobs and learn what they do. Start doing stuff and stop asking, it's how you learn.

I feel like its too raw now , its certainly improved with the crunch/tok and sounds much better when in beat.

the tok definitely needs to be more prominent. there's a high frequency spike in there as well that's messing up the whole vibe of the kick. the bass and tail and stuff are cool though imo

Well gonna have a shot at a second attempt at a kick

the nose of the kick should be more mids, like around 500-800ish. but what i'm hearing is too much 4k-7kish...so that tok or nose of the kick needs to be more prominent and louder but with more of a push in mid range and not highs. overall the vibe is raw and I think you'd need more tone and harmonics in the distortion of the kick to get more of a hardstyle sounding kick

Yeah did what you said getting much nicer sound
