Sub Zero Project screeches mixdown question

Post by erol »

Hi,

I was wondering if someone here could explain how to create and maybe more inportant, how to mix screeches like Sub Zero Project does. If you listen to this, the screeches are very distorted and with a lot of reverb but they dont drown in reverb. also sound creating wise, I have no idea how they did this:

any ideas?
thanks

I think(?) They use a send channel for the reverb and then sidechaining the reverb to the screech signal. Basically the reverb is dampened behind the screech and when the screech breaks, the reverb fills it up. I use it for basically everything that needs a massive reverb but dont want to fuck everything up.

Hope this helps, I cant explain it better than this.

I think its a lot of delay grained out aswell, creating the rhythm plus automation/sidechain on the reverb I think
