I just saw Neophyte Records sharing this video ... instead of wazzzup I'm like wtf?
I thought Neophyte Records still have their "quality" standards

Guys I'm trying to get into Terror & maybe even some Speedcore but I want a bit of help. Could someone define Terrorcore for me. What makes it Terrorcore and what makes it Speedcore? I guess Speedcore is the high bpm, maybe 220+? But what about Terror?
Also please give a mention to Artists/alias/labels worth looking into would be great
Cheers

Besides just the tempo, Terror has more to do with the samples used. You'll hear a lot more vulgar samples and dark themes like satanism, death, murder, etc. Can also have just am evil sound to it. I used to be a little into it, though I kept more into Speed core at the time.
I'd say Terror is usually 200-280bpm. Speedcore 300+bpm with all its subgenres (Splittercore, Extratone, Noise and what not), can be up to 1000bpm. Early Terror from the 90s often plays at 200-210bpm.
Also don't mistake Uptempo Hardcore (180-200bpm) with Terror (200+bpm). The high bpm styles have changed alot throughout the past 25 years, so it depends on what era you are looking at.
Terror DJ's that I would recommend to check out: SRB, Drokz, Noisekick, Angernoizer, Paranoizer, Mithridate, The Destroyer, UKTM, Akira, s'Aphira, Deterrent Man, Smurf, DRS, Goetia, Kurwastyle Project
Since I know you also like UK Hardcore (The DJ Producer, Deathmachine, Dolphin,...) you might like the DJ sets that s'Aphira is playing. She usually spins Terror combined with UK Hardcore, dope stuff.

Alec Empire definitely. He's actually Digital Hardcore, but he has a lot of similarities to Terror, and his tracks were incorporated in Early Terror sets from back in the day.icey wrote:Awesome cheers guys. And yeh I'm looking into some tracks with horror samples and stuff so anything dark and quite frankly "scary" will do... I don't think I'm ready for Speedcore just now
Thanks for the help guys. Got a few bits from all artists listed above. Especially SRB & Paranoizer
Not so much from Drokz but what I have sounds pretty good. Already have lots of stuff from Tripped and Akira although I don't think their tracks are flat out "Terror"
I really want more with Horror/scary samples though!
