Hardship of not using Logic plugins for hard sound creation?

Post by leeroy »

Feeling a bit confused now. I like to work with Cubase and FL Studio. I don't use logic but I have used all the logic plugins and make sounds in it. I know what the plugins are like and I know how good they are.. they are not directly like any VST plugins I've used in terms of quality. The logic plugins have this great internal limiting which makes it so useful for mass distortion/longchains and it saves a lot of hassle in sound design IMO. I don't wanna switch over to using logic though, I want to continue with FL Studio but I also want the damn logic plugins.. does anyone else feel this hardship? I think I will try my best to find decent alternatives but the logic plugins are all kind of unique :dunno:

definitely don't feel this hardship but you might be able to find reaktor players people have made to emulate the logic plugs

I was thinking again that there's no need to find alternatives, I can just use logic for some sound design (some punch drums or whatever), Mostly the sounds are always resampled anyway and there's plentiful decent (and creative) vst plugins out there

I've been a little concerned with this myself to be honest but i can't afford or justify staying with apple. first off they closed upgrades after purchase with things like soldering RAM to logic boards, and there forced upgrade of certain software and rushing out yearly operating systems left me with doubts.
i can easily and cost effectively replace any component in a pc daw and upgrade. i can get a beast of a pc daw for much less than an underpowered alternative mac.
I'm currently switching back from mac to pc and dropping logic in favour of studio one. i find audio editing, automation etc in studio one much better for my personal workflow.
however the one thing that stopped me initially was losing access to certain logic plugins like alchemy and clip distortion. I'm not a fan of the Hackintosh idea TBH, and I'm not bashing macs, they are awesome and simply work most of the time however i personally can't afford to buy another high spec one with other financial commitments.
so...
I'm buying a small secondhand mac mini you can pick them up really really cheap and it will serve as a logic plugin host and a backup machine. and I'm away to invest in a machine from overclockers as soon as i offload my current macbook.
this means i get the best of both worlds and don't ever have to buy an expensive mac again.
