@sustain, i like your punch, sounds a little bit like a raw punch =) but your melody sounds a little bit like an endless loop and your main punch phase is not that good =/. Don´t change the key in the punchphase better make a different melody or something like this, but anway nice work.

Here is a track i made yesterday =D oldschool with new stuff .

Hey man,

Not sure what the cause is maybe you used to much sidechain but feels like the the synth in the first part is out of rhythm. I think your kick could use some extra bass.

Really like the screech in the second part and like the transition to the second part. However you should fill it up with some sounds

Anyway what do you guys think of this?:

@Virimus
The overall sound design is decent, but the track is really let down by the mixdown. The leads are a bit muddy and flat and the percussion is often far too loud and dry. Chuck some reverb on there!
I didnt like the very beginning, thought it sounded weird, however the rest of the arrangement was alright. Kick sounds a bit strange, tok sounds disjointed from the tail, but its not that bad
Main lead is muddy, and there are random drop outs. Sounds like you put in a sidechain, but I dont think it sounds good, the attack sounds too high

Also the tok on the kick is a bit too resonant. Sounds like a block of wood. But this is me being very picky

If you were to change one thing about your track, it should definitely be a better mixdown.

@ASTARTAS

Kick is very drowned in the mix, should raise the volume and mess with an EQ to bring it in more.
The second screech is also very harsh, its almost completely upper mids and highs, definitely need to soften it and add some lower frequencies so it pads out the mix better

@ArchTitans

The screech is nice, very snappy. The kick however, is not good. Very weak, flat and kind of annoying. The introduction of the bells at 30 seconds is also a bit sudden, and doesnt suit the track.
Also when the kick comes in, your sidechain for your lead is too severe, it cuts the leads volume almost completely at times. The lead needs to be louder, and have a stable volume. The kick volume seems to change randomly.
Lead is also quite boring, needs more highs. It sounds very flat.

Here are my tracks, I have a couple to show you guys

Last two tracks are oldies, so the quality isnt as high and Im not 100% happy with how they came out. But I uploaded them anyway.

Enjoy!

@JensJacobsen

cool Idea but the melody sounds a bit chopped. Maybe lengthen the notes a bit. The Kick is too short and the tail needs to be cleaner. The tail is just my taste but the lengh is definitely too short :p All in all cool idea! And btw about half a year ago you posted a trance snippet in the other music snippet thread. This one was out of this world! Is this already finished? I would totally buy the full version! (L)

@Bass Frequency

For you posted four tracks I shortly review them all but don't go that into detail :)

Bounty Hounter: Sounddesign wise this is awesome imo! The sounds are well produced and clear. The kick is a bit too crunchy if you ask me. I like crunchy kicks but this is a little bit too much for me. But I guess this is just a matter of taste tho. other people may find that one totally awesome and I don't say that its a bad kick. Its cool but not my taste ;)

Dragon Ball: I never really watched Dragon Ball. But this is a reeeaalllyy cool idea and, again, well produced with awesome sounddesign. But I guess it more belongs in the Other Music section. There is a Track Snippets/Previews thread like here for non Hardstyle/Hardcore ;)

No guts no glory: The Vocal at the very beginning is sometimes a bit hard to understand. Maybe raise the volume there a bit. The Reverse Bass is very cool! The melody is pretty simple but does it's work! With the kick it is here like it was with Bounty Hounter! Overally I like it! Very creative!

Dibby: I don't really like the vocal. But sounds like a party track hahaha. Again a nice idea, very creative and nice produced. Kick like mentioned above.

All in all very nice! I like it. The "no guts no glory" track takes the win for me here hehe :D

@ASTARTAS

Virimus said that the kick lacks a bit bass but I think its already nice as it is and the low end is just fine! The kick is really cool! But I also would bring it out more! But I agree that the synth in the first part is sometimes a bit out of rythm. Imo the first part is way better anyway because the screech in the second is totally not my taste. Also like Bass Frequency above already said I would give it more low frequencies. All in all a cool idea and awesome dark atmosphere! I like it.

This is a idea I had earlier today. I Actually wanted to mess with a distorted synth and somehow this came out. Would love some opinions because I listened to it for some time and am not sure if its good or bad :rofl:

@daresais
well the synth itself sounds quite nasty but hasnt got its final potential i think. I would try it on a higher note or even an octave since it lacks a bit of a tone cause it sounds so low you know? Add a compressor too, dynamics seem all over the place. And cut maybe a bit of the trebles, just a tiny bit. Theres much white noise in it too.
Build-up wise there need to happen more ofc but i think you just wanted to showcase that synth.
Great job, but it lacks excitement. I would say its a great base synth with which you can do a lot.

@bass frequency
bounty hunter: Dont like it that much that hes talking over the melody that much. The breaks sounds a bit chaotic melodicwise, and the first drop comes out of nowhere. you need to prepare the drop more i think. Add crashes, rides and such things too. Sound effects in the drops are alright and sound really interesting. The things that doesnt really fit i think is that melody and drops are on a different base note. They dont fit together that well. Mixdown is a bit muddy and needs some work too.
Technically spoken the main instruments such as kick and synths, are very well made and sound preofessional. Nice 8-bit element in there, makes the track really unique.

Dragon Ball: Totally not my genre, will skip this one sorry.

Dominance: Yeah like daresais said, compressor on the vocal and up with the volume. Also here the mixdown doesnt seem really finished as the reverse bass seems too quiet. The idea behind the track is really great. The synth is also nicely done but I dont know maybe its too low? Lacks a bit of excitement. Like bounty hunter too, technically its well done but your tracks need to invite to dance which they don't do that much.

Dibby: really muddy mixdown, but everything else sounds wicked man. Best one out of those 4 tracks for me. Synths have too much treble but thats probably because of the low quality like you said. Nice sound design going on there especially with the kick.

What comes to my mind when I hear your tracks is that you have great and expecially really unique ideas. your kick and synths are on a quite high level, in some parts you really can also hear how much time you spend on the sound design which is really great. Keep working on the details and work on your arrangements as the tracks tend to be too chaotic and the drops tend to be not properly built up. I remember you uploading other tracks of you and you've improved a lot. Keep it up!

@virimus
like bass frequency said the mixdown is not quite there. some parts and instruments definitely need to be louder, some quieter (midintro effects quieter, vocals sometimes louder and so on, listen carefully you will spot them for sure). breaks the flow a bit. Sound design wise its really great, most parts are packed with details which i really like.
This is feedback on a quite high level, kick sounds very alright to me, overall its a nice track. lacks a bit catchy-ness for me, maybe its just not really my taste but the details in this one really did it for me.

now that my fingers are scarred from typing, ill make it short. Ive uploaded this one already, but I considered all your feedback (thx again!) and made a new kic. Still having trouble with my break though to keep it simple without deleting stuff. This track is a bitch cause i still have troubles with kinda everything. How do you like it?

@Neko, love the build-up even if im not a rawstyle, i think the kick is a bit too "crunchy" but well this is only for my taste, great potential anyway :P

Here's two snippets that i never finished and maybe i will remake them with a better sound-design :)

@Daniro: sounds really interesting, the kick is a bit boring in the tail tho, test it out with some more distortion. screech has a very nice crunch to it.

@Neko: Love it. Simply as that. You could add some more fx to vary it a bit more but otherwise its awesome.

@Krystaal: Sounds really decent, Leads and melos need a bit more work, but otherwise pretty good

Dont know about the melo in this one but its still nice

@daniro and @Neko

Thanks for the feedback guys, really appreciate the depth you went into.
Dibby and the Defqon anthem were quite messy, but I just couldnt get that mixdown perfect and I had no motivation to perfect it anymore, so I just thought Id release them
Personally I thought the Bounty Hunter mix was pretty good, what parts need improving? Mixdowns are always tough to perfect.
While I agree the arrangement isnt traditionally hardstyle, its actually a remix/homage of the Metroid Prime 2 theme song, so I wanted to capture that game feel in there. I feel like i did that

But I definitely agree that my buildups need work. I do tend to rush them

Thanks again!
