How would I keep my songs in key

Apparently I have this issue everytime and I hear it sometimes but other times I just don't.
My kick is in G and I started everything note wise in G. But for some reason people are saying it's still out of key and I honestly don't get it.. I'm not gonna post the track but I was just looking for advice on how to fix this issue

Easiest way to fix this would be to learn some music theory. Taking piano lessons will help this or you can read and practise in your own time.

could be that the song isn't in g...

just because it starts with a g doesn't have to mean that g is the tonic or key of the song that you composed.
there's "key calculators"(?) online, type in the notes you used and they throw out the key.
with simpler melodies there's several possibilities for key, try to see what fits best.
transposing it by a few semitones (a 4/5th at max) could help too

it's all try and fail - and then try harder.

Let's say I have a certain scale I wanna use.
So my kick is in G
I wanna use a G Melodic minor.
Does it matter what notes are played as long as they're on the scale?

Also let's say my kick pitches up and changes key. Should my melody be in the key that my kick changes to?

G is a note, just like any other note on the keyboard. Unless you're doing some crazy music theory stuff, should be in the key of G for the whole melody (assuming G is the tonic of your scale). When the kick pitches, it changes as a bass guitar would play the bassline to a song, and it doesn't change the key. Keep in mind that also, just because your bassline starts on G, that doesn't necessarily make it a G scale, that's just starting the melody in a scale where the note of the first part of the bassline is G

maybe your kick isnt properly tuned to a G (?).

I had this problem recently where I thought i was working with my kick in F, but really it was slightly pitched up higher than an F, but not quite at F#... as you can tell it was funky and I couldn't figure out why people were telling me my tracks were out of tune. I had to go back to my kick and extract the punch and pitch down the tail to an F.

Ever since my tracks sound a little better. Not sure if I even did the right thing.

Try GTune on your kick to be sure it's in G, other than that learning some basic theory would be best. Besides that, be critical on your own work and let it rest for a few days during the producing process. Fresh ears could make you notice yourself as well

haha that's actually he only reason I know it's in G and yea I try not to work on music every day. I was looking at MIDIs a day or two ago and saw how the first note for the melody and bass line are all the same key So right now I'm trying to somewhat use that technique to make a melody of my own to kind of test it out.. And Fixing what I was currently working on
