Logic on a PC is very possible
Hi forum,
I'm probably not the only one getting frustrated when making a kick on a PC with FL studio for example. Everybody in hardstyleland is in awe of the logic clip distortion. The only problem is that logic doesn't run on a PC and it's waaaaaay to expensive to buy a mac only for making kicks. So I've searched the internet for workarounds and found an interesting concept: The hackintosh.
What it comes down to is a few (minor) changes in your bios, a version of OS X like Mavericks or Yosemite, a usb-stick and some post-installation software and voilà, you've got yourself a mac and a PC in one machine.
I've done this myself and can confirm that both OS X Mavericks and Windows 8.1 run smoothly on my PC. This way I can use the mighty clip distortion for my kicks and use FL studio for the rest of my track. I thought I could post this because at first the installation guide looks daunting, however when you get into it, it's very doable.
I've used the installation guide on this site:

(I'm not sure if it's illegal, but if it is you can delete this post immediatly!)

No its not lol
I think you have misunderstood simple law and rights..HazardouZ wrote:Hi!

It is totally legal to do so.
On the other hand, what actually is illegal is if you use copyrighted software which you haven´t purchased - then we can talk illegal actions. (And my bet is that 98% is doing it the illegal way).

I suggest using the guides on TonyMacx86's site & forums for installing OS X on your PC. That is the most up-to-date and reliable site for hackintoshing, I don't really recommend using some weird hacked OS X distro downloaded from some torrent site or anything like that, the guides on TonyMac are specifically meant for installing a real "clean" & "unmodified" official OS X on your PC, not some weird full of crap hacked together distro with possible bloatware and so on... Also they have up-to-date builds for all kinds of price-areas with best possible parts selected if you're going to build a hackintosh pc.
So yeah, that's the #1 site to go if you're interested in hackintoshing, but if none of these "proper" ways to install OS X on your PC work because of your incompatible parts (As example; You have an AMD CPU but still wish to run OS X) then you might have to use some modified distro with unknown edited DSDT / .kext drivers & custom UNIX kernel which suit your parts so that the operating system runs.
Also, when you install an official OS X Mavericks image to your PC the proper way, your PC basicly is "Mac" then, so even all the Apple services work fine, the AppStore, Updates and so on... When using a modified distro then those might not work at all...

Screw going to the trouble of all that just for logic. Some better Daws out there

Purpose, thou art the compass.
It's fairly easy.
Get VIrtualbox, with that you can run any OS while still being on Windows.
You don't even need an USB-Stick.
Download a .iso of OSX, run it into VB and done.

For this I suggest using VMWare instead of VirtualBox. Why? It's simple; Much more stable experience overall, I've compared.Valadia wrote:It's fairly easy.

Oh sure, you can use whatever program you like. I just used VirtualBox because that's the only one I knew whoHarha wrote:For this I suggest using VMWare instead of VirtualBox. Why? It's simple; Much more stable experience overall, I've compared.Valadia wrote:It's fairly easy.
