Mastering of Free Tracks
I am wondering wheter tracks released for free by the big producers are also professionally mastered or are just selfmastered quickly by the producers themselves. Anybody got some insight?

even though producers may master the track themselves, they don't do a 'quick mastering' cause that would defeat the whole purposeDj Reaper wrote:or are just selfmastered quickly by the producers themselves

Purpose, thou art the compass.
Actually... Mastering isn't really time-taking. It's mostly done within 2 to 4 hours.Soundphase wrote:even though producers may master the track themselves, they don't do a 'quick mastering' cause that would defeat the whole purposeDj Reaper wrote:or are just selfmastered quickly by the producers themselves

If they are signed to a big enough label which has in-house mastering for their artists, I don't think they would have much of a problem mastering a few free tracks for a producer of their own.
You can bet all the Theracords free releases are like that.
