LANDR, free online mastering

Post by Bluemind »

So, a music related Facebook page that I liked shared this:

https://landr.com/

It's a free online mastering service, tried it but I wouldn't use it for a final mastering in my tracks, maybe that can help some of you guys, so I'll leave it there. :D

Tested it, just for the lulz and this is my feedback:

Side gives you a mp3 192kbit compressed Version of your Track.
Imo sounds totally overcompressed and not good.
If you want the uncompressed Wave output you have to sign up for a "Premium" Account (dunno how much that will cost you).

So even if you have no clue about mastering, this site is complte bullcrap.
The fact that they give you a 192kbit mp3 makes the "free" use option also completely useless
besides the crappy compression you get.

Hope that saves at least some time for the people who are interested and might want to try this out.
Music needs Character.

This is just a money grab. Tried this quickly and it's just a huge waste of time.

Audio mastering is a process that can't be automated, there must be a human doing it. Like, ofc you can use something like this to "quickly" master your track for a preview but I don't see the point in that. Every track is different and computers can't know exactly "how" they differ from each other or what kind of outcome the producer wants and so on...

So yeah, as Euphorizer stated it's just some crappy attempt at earning money.

Seeing that this service was utter shit, I'm going to close this thread to make sure no one destroys their tracks with it.
I'm grumpier than you.

Do people even read these?
