THIS! you can use auto tune, transposition and stuff afterwords but the key is to get a good dry take. if you plan to record it at home try to get a good mic with a pop filter. if you do not have a cabin for vocals, just put it in your wardrobe, bed sheet behind you. so you can "emulate" a dry environment with less "room" sound.Astroshade wrote:Coolio... yeah I think the same, the better the dry original sound is the better it osunds when mixed, and that applies for EVERYTHINGPeacekeeper wrote:Actually this is a real voice i guess. and always: it's better to use a good vocalist than changing your voice as f*ck imo.
one with a good voice is brian baumgartner (look him up at Facebook. he is from breaking ba.. err albuquerque). He got a pretty deep and powerful voice for anthemish vocals. then you can always transpose it a tiny little bit down, use a de esser and a normal compressor. equalise it and if you want distort it a little bit. you can also try to use a bit crusher. remember to make it wet... hoho ...i can recommend the h-delay set as pingpong. side chain it with the original voice. same with a reverb. this will make it pretty big and wide. but look, that the main voice actually is not toooo wide. it should be right in your face. so keep an eye on the stereo field with the effects.

OR....OR! You can build your own studio like Zatox, that is... if you got 50.000.000 $Peacekeeper wrote:THIS! you can use auto tune, transposition and stuff afterwords but the key is to get a good dry take. if you plan to record it at home try to get a good mic with a pop filter. if you do not have a cabin for vocals, just put it in your wardrobe, bed sheet behind you. so you can "emulate" a dry environment with less "room" sound.

Actually studied room acoustics... bed sheets and eggboxes (u didnt mention eggboxes I know, but it's a common misconception), don't work all that well. But i get your point
