We already have a shitload of tracks being played on the radio here in Holland, especially that Gecko track
and here it's like the most popular music in clubs
That's no surprise since you russians are more often into "weird" music :+

Would I be weird if i said i liked this?

It's pretty much already the next big thing for the late hipsters, acts like Disclosure and Ten Walls are already being smashed by the radio stations here.
Now that it's about deep house, I haven't heard from bakermat in a while, guess he ran out of sax samples.
Eww gross, and am I the only one here that thinks that the notes on the "melody" of this track were a bit delayed from each other in the beggining? Listen from 0:50 to 1:00, or is it just the way it's meant to be? If it is, i really hate it...

Dude and isn't he right? 90% of the people dress like that to fit in, he was talking about the 90%, not the other 10% who dress like that because they like it. And I'm pretty sure he didn't accuse anybody here.

SCH wrote: You didn't insult anyone directly but implied that people who likes mainstream house are bot real house fans - that is quite insulting to the house fans here, since basically everyone on a music board like this one are die hards in one way or another.
I think he was reffering to the people who like mainstream house and joined the house scene, I'm saying this because I often speak the same way he does and people tend to get me wrong, I don't know how to express myself, sometimes I can't find the right word, like my brain has the most intelligent thing to say, but then my mouth f*cks up the entire thing xD. What was inteded to be a speech about Gandhi ended up being a speech about how I poop in the morning :+
Oh and about the tracks that shadow interaction posted, at first I was like "Nah man I don't want to hear a track from avicii", but then I heard it and was like, "Wait a minute, this is the track that I always hear wherever i freaking go, i really hate the repetitive melody"

And the jackpot track, i found it really dissapointing that they put a build up to another build up, especially when i liked the second build up (the melody, the way the synth sounded not that much) better than i liked the actual drop xD

He never gave percentages and that´s kind of the issue. He said he sees posers ´everywhere´ and people that didn´t like house music before it become popular are ´fake fans´. I´m merely stating reasons as to why it´s a nonsense claim. It´s not about accusing anyone directly, but it is accusing entire groups of people :P

Also, shit, Shadow Interaction. Thanks for ruining Gecko for me  Wasn´t annoyed by the kick before but now I hear it too.
I like Levels. That is all :dunno:

Yes i understand that some people could like house when it got mainstream because they didn't know that the genre existed or other reasons. But I think we're talking about the majority. And of course if I said "I see posers everywhere" it's obvious that I don't mean all of the people. I don't think "All I see is a lot of posers and some people who dress like the posers but aren't posers" would be a good sentence. An yeah, no hate on avicii, but to he's on the "meh" scale. I wonder what a hardstyle track from him would sound like... probably shit, disregard this thought.

Actually I don't think the track is all that bad, its kind of got that oldschool vibe from the early 90's... with a terrible kick.

the kind I don't like are stuff like:

seriously? I never EVER even once heard the melody "as I am suppost to listen to it". (ref. D-Mind)
And I found that out pretty well when I tried to mashup it with another song. Melody starts somewhere in the middle of the score apparently........

then there's this sack of shit kind:

like-- what the hell is that enormous break building up to? to what? THE FUCKING MID INTRO ! hurray you won jackpot! (a real one, not this.)
Plus all that buzzing portamento shizz is really annoying to hear. Especially when ALL DJ's PLAY THIS HOURS LONG.
It gets worse when they start throwing the benny benassi sounds around.

/rage

but to be fair, I did once listen to house. like 10 years ago. I loved listening to Stonebridge for example. Not sure if anyone knows him, he made deep-house back then. I also love downtempo, which is pretty close related in a way
What's the point in coming here and making an endless post about how shit (bigroom) house is :? I don't go into your precious D&B topic either saying "this track I hate, oh and this track is fucking crap, this track is shit etc etc". At least try to stick to the question in the OP instead of spewing hellfire and brimstone on tracks you don't like...

Okay guys....
Last post by me here on this topic, after this I won't reply anymore.
However to be fair I will read any reply, and maybe clench my fist in anger or just have a laugh.

1 - I never intended to insult you - the fans of Big Room or Progressive.
Since a lot of people, including good friends of mine have liked/produced/DJed this music since way back-
Some people are newcommers to the genre, and will remain faithful. Some will get bored with it.
And that's okay. It's natural.
BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT many (no % mentioned) are fake. As there are MANY fake fans when it comes to Rap music
(not to mention that 2pac has the most fake fans, ppl who only heard one or two songs say he's legend - even tho he is, they just say it without knowing what they say),
and believe me, in the world of rap, this is a hot topic. And in the world of hip hop ppl speak their mind - as did I.

Like mushroom grow after rain - so do OPPORTUNISTS (I'm talking about DJ's and Producers here) grow when a new hype comes.
And YES I have the right to speak about this - since ppl say "not everyone knows music as we do", well I know music, maybe not as much
as the big pro's but learning, and most importanly listening.
AND this is normal, that opportunists grow in numbers when a HYPE comes around. Not HATING - just STATING.
Opportunists produce this genre because they want money and fame. Not because they necessarily love it.
YES many of them DO, but not all.

I'm not saying we should all hate them or call them weak minded or anything, never did say anything like that.
I don't feel superior like someone said...

Also, me calling them cloners - seems to upset ppl. So I will be wise and step back on that. True we all dress the way we want.
I was reffering only to the way the majority of the crowd dresses at festivals - but I agree, that I should've left out.

2 - It IS a hype, and yes, MY favourite genre might also become a hype.
And I'd be disappointed to hear my friends who TODAY tell me "Silviu, why do you stick to hardstyle when it isn't selling?"
continuing "Start making Avicii songs" (they actually say AVICII) tell me TOMORROW "Wow love your stuff, keep it up" just because HS is "in".

And I hear comments like "Your track is weird, it's not commercial".
Since when is not commercial = weird? THIS is exaclty what I talked about in the first post remember?
About how ppl who really did HATE on "techno" (every 4 by 4 was called techno to the majority of todays FAKE fans - back in the day when they listened to radio pop songs).
I'm saying, there ARE fake fans everywhere. That's why some musical genres are big today and not so big tomorrow.
That might be great for the ones who are in the scene, so congrats, but when the FAKE fans stop caring then something else will blossom.
Like Blackmetal Dubstep RnB Opera.

Anyways.
Imma try to be mature here and say I'm sorry if I offended you.
I'd expect some of you to realise that you misinterpreted me, maybe coz I didn't express myself, maybe you had preconcieved thoughts..

Now I'm asking you, when will this TOPIC die out?
Peace...

P.S.

I must admit, I like it when things get hot on a forum. And I'm happy a lot of ppl joined either with or against me.
And if any of you were flame baiting a.k.a trolling, then good job :)
Proudly producing pow-pow-powerful Hardstyle since 2007

I dont think it will die out that fast. The (modern) Progressive house is on top since 2010. It was/is a way more huge then the dubstep hype which was actually nothing and was never really mainstream (I can only speak for the place where I live). I have never heard dubstep at a "normal" club, its always house and maybe some hiphop. I dont have a problem with it being the mainstream genre, because I like alot house stuff. Besides listening to house I dig drum & bass and dubstep a lot more but do I need it as the mainstream genre? No, because I can decide to what music I want to listen to. Most of my friends listen to house also and I got 2-3 who listen to dnb aswell.
There are far more important things in life then topics like "when will progressive house die out blalbla". Dont judge a person because he or she is listening to the mainstream genre. It doesnt make you better and you arent better when you listen to other music. Maybe you dont like sport or whatever as much him/her.

@Holder hopefully ;)
