Commercial Hardstyle remixes topic

You know... there was a time once when famous songs were being recycled into hardstyle versions, based on either a melody or a complete idea. These hardstyle songs were either released as a solo track or a bootleg, and they were massively populair in the hardstyle scene.
Tracks like The Hose - I Survived, Max Enforcer - Catching Up, Zany & Dv8 - Nothing Else Matters and even the unknown bootleg on Take On Me (by Scope dj) had a sheer moment of fame... everyone still remembers that right?.. or..
Anyway most of them were epic and still are remembered up to this day, some even turned into big hardstyle classics and that's saying a lot.

Over the last 2-3 years however, this has become the newest hype in the scene... and not for the greater good.
Back in 2012 when Wildstylez released Year Of Summer, Lose My Mind (ft Brennan Heart) and his remix on Wild One Two, the scene secretly slipped in the idea to combine the idea of a remix and a bootleg together, so bootlegs were now called remix or re-amp (for whatever the hell that means), and the bootleg term/definition seems to have vanished from the industry.
Now obviously I'm not saying that these tracks were bad, cause they were huge hits! For sure a lot of people hated it, but imo they werent bad at all. Even with the male pop singing and video clips.
Hell I even called out Wild One Two as the very best mainstream track of the year.



My biggest concern however is... what followed next.
Now i'm now talking about the succes of the tracks, but rather the mentality of the impact, and how it influenced new producers. For some reason, everyone started the think they had to remix a famous pop, house or trance song to get a hit, and you know what? It actually worked and failed at the same time.
New remixes (bootlegs) popped out of the ground from small artists to big ones and there were populair, but
If they were populair why did they fail you ask? Well simply put... they arent made to be classics.

Aside from the major overkill of tracks we have today, is that the producers back then had a lot of love for the music, and the back then the idea was to create a hardstyle version of a famous song, taking in all of the elements like chords, vocals and the general feel of the track.
These tracks currently: they don't have that.
Everyone simply tries to create 'that big one', but it doesn't, because it's being made just to be a hit. Either in a professional way, or a lazy one (Yes Zatox and The Pitcher, that include you aswell). Just taking a sound and putting your kick under it isn't good enough.

Everytime I open up Harderstate I'm afraid to see 10 more pages of remixes from popsongs, of course unfortunately leaded by mr. trendstarter Wildstylez, who seems to do so on a daily basis.
And remixers that only know the standard formula of a [intro] [break with male vocal] [climax with a nice stuck in your mind melo] [again male vocal] [and here we go again, same part] [outro]
I've lost count on how many there are these days, and what I get to hear, I often don't like it.

So, what tracks are worth to look at? What is your opinion on it? Forget the whole Nu-style vs hardstyle discussion, this is the newest thing currently trending in hardstyle world.

I thought you weren't into hardstyle anymore that much, yet you still manage to create a topic talking about commercial remixes and stuff

Btw, there's not that many more remixes than a couple of years ago. The only difference is that some are actually getting released, but that's like once in 5 months or something...

Might be just me but I think Wildstylez remix of Legacy is really one of the better poppy remixes out there!

and Spaceman - Headhunterz remix. & forgot to mention Lessons in Love.

I think it's fine to remix a pop/house song into hardstyle as long as the kicks are still proper and it's at 150 bpm + good sounddesign. So you can still hear it's hardstyle.

If it has an idea and turns out to be something really original and fresh like Pitcher's bootleg of Twist and Shout or the Tocas Mirracle remix, im all up for it. If its made only for the sake making a hardstyle version of a track that everyone knows so that people will dance to it (like that tragic Code Black's remix of some random bigroom house track thats in right now or Isaac's Animals... ), that is what i call lack of ideas and creativity.f

But yes, producers should focus on their own tracks

But yeah, I'd rather have Wildstylez creating EP's with tracks like Timeless/Forever!/Soundstorm than a house remix.

btw I didn't just open the topic, to limit it to commercial house remixes alone, but rather "remixes of different genres" in general aswell.

A lot of people may not like house remixes but most of them aren't that bad / uninspired like The Pitchers Cannonball bootleg, Isaac's Animals remix and Zatox' DJ Tool (which was more of a fun thing than a serious remix). Some people that don't like these remixes seem to don't like the ideas of the remix instead of the actual track.
