USA storms Iraq, Syria... nobody panics :D Putin goes to Ukraine and look... I'm not sure that russian army is in such bad condition, but he definitely doesn't want any NATO base on Ukraine territory. Maybe this is the main problem of this act. And btw as I see in the news Obama is kinda scared/shocked about it, or he doesn't want to start any problems, I mean maybe it's a bit wrong time to do it...

The Crimea government asked Russia for help. And they did, but the problem is that they just cant go in other country with force, and insulting Ukraine army bases ( rocket facilities, etc ). And kinda to much people are going to handle peace in Crimea region, don't you think so ?

And funny stuff russian media is telling in Russia...
A lot of people are leaving Ukraine to Russia

The Russian army and navy are in bad shape compared to f.e. the American one.
However if it's worth risking soldiers for, one can debate, although I guess if the US were to send their carriers and UK+France would do the heavy lifting it'd be a smaller problem.
1. As many as you wish :D
Spoiler
2. It just looks that way. Russians may look old-fashioned, but the fact is they do not care about the rusty look of their equipment and its shape as long as it does its job, therefore they invest way less than USA does.

Doubt any shot will be fired in Crimea. Ukraine can't do anything about it, the Russians have far more military personnel and equipment than Ukraine there. Don't think any western country dares seeking problems with Russia too.
Yeah, something like that. According to the latest news Ukraine's fleet went to Russian side, as well as 30 Ukraine's fighter aircrafts pilots and some of the infantry went to the Russian side, or surrendered. Russian troops have already taken Sevastopol under the control and it's not true they deployed ground forces only. :+ Here you can see dozen of choppers heading to Sevastopol.
Spoiler
p.s. With weak possibility that we are, actually, watching Ukraine's choppers.

I read on a danish news report that 10000 people were rallying in Moscow in a pro-invasion peaceful rally. A small group of ~100 people were protesting the war peacefully and were subsequently removed by the police  The state of that place :+

I mean, Crimea (if you ignore the tatars and the anti-russian minority) are happy about this. imo, it might end up with Crimea becoming a part of Russia. As long as Putin stays out of Eastern Ukraine, the situation is under control. The Ukrainians will fight back if he does do that though and then we have an issue that could lead to something global.

I am happy that China has spoken out against Russias actions though! This means that the only countries that could possibly support this is the nutjobs; Cuba, North Korea and Venezuela. This makes it easier to put some diplomatic pressure on the Russians :)

Well the socialist nutjob society (Cuba and Venezuela) probably won't care at all, they're busy screwing up their own economy.
The US invasion of Iraq was rather different seeing that Russia do have a causus belli, and America did not have any. Also when did America touch Syria? Afaik they're hands off there.
I'm grumpier than you.

Do people even read these?

What's happening now is just sable-rattling, in other words is China just saying 'We're still a great power, don't forget about us'.
I doubt this will turn into a war.
