The current SAIFAM style is quite bland but if you compare spoontech to scantraxx to dwx to theracords I would certainly call it alot more diverse than the listed tracks here.

(I'm not trying to be disrespectful, I would just love to understand what you find so diverse about these tracks. I do like alot of the melodies in them, I just dont see how theyre that different apart from that)
Compare:
Ultrasonic - Bass Mtfk (Remix)
Thilo & Evanti - System Addict
Dj Zany - Houze Musik
Ricky T - Generation T (Hardstyle Mix)

All were afaik made in 2004, but it will give you a good hint of what kind of diversity you had in the earlier days.
Thanks :) I guess John Cove is right, I still dont really get it. I did quite enjoy that Thilo & Evanti track though, that is quite sweet :)

I guess that's subjective. Like you wrote earlier, the style is evolving and even back then, what he called "raw style" was the track he made, with Nikkita. Just look at rawstyle now. It has evolved into a much more hardcore-influenced style after they implemented the hc'ish kick in a hardstyle structured track.
well.. call it subjective, but the scene had far more harder and rougher tracks than the track zatox pushed out ;) plus it was in the time that mainstream hardstyle became more raw too, just without losing the mainstream part.
and another illusion people tend to believe... no, hardcorish hardstyle is NOT a recent combo, it's been done ever since hardstyle was born :)

Do you have Gatty's mix called Two Thousand And Six? That was a beast of a mix and covers a lot of 06 bases.

I would like any that you have. I love live sets, it's the only way i listen to music. Only problem is, 95% of them suck nowadays.

@BeatConductor I agree (6) (6) I can't listen to dongs for 1 hour, I just can't. No.

2006 was great because the tracks were much better produced and they had PERCUSSION something which seems to mostly have dissappered form hardstyle, the tracks around this time had a lot more soul also

I've been in hardstyle since 2004, after 2005 I got bored of the sound for a while but then in 2006 I started to love it again, 2006 - 2009 is my personal favorite era of hardstyle

I actually think that name fits my style the most compared to "rawstyle" :P

Ontopic:
I might also have some 2006 sets lying around - but Synergy of Sound 2006 includes A LOT of awesome tunes :) I wonder if those links are still working - I think I saw them somewhere on the board earlier?
