Well, have you tried a stereo enhancer?
I'm grumpier than you.

yer i use logics stereo plug in which sounds ok. The panning options with the leads at different octaves works well and also after reading this stereo delay has helped also :)

Pan your layers differently. If you use unison detune you should have some kinda "stereo/pan"-knob there too. (I mean the one that adjusts unison phasing stereo offset) If you need more control you can adjust each layers phase too. That's plenty of control over the stereo image. But if you prefer, you can get a plugin to fuck it up for you.
