Hi there Harderstate!
I'm completely new into hardstyle and have been producing house for a while.
I'm having big problems making hardstyle melodies using Logic Pro X pianoroll.
ALL tutorials on youtube on how to make a hardstyle melody is pointed towards FL Studio.
I'm trying to get the same grid in Logic Pro X without success.
How do I do this?
I watched this tutorial:
And if you watch @ 0.47 sec in the clip, you can see he's using those small notes to fill it out which makes it sound more hardstyle'ish..
are those triplets? is he working in triplet grid or just 16grid? because no matter what I change in Logic, I can't get it to sound the same.
Any other tips on making hardstyle melodies? I want to evolve in this.
Favourite melody is probably headhunterz - dragonborn for me. I want to do the same "type" of melodies.
Thanks!

The program you're using to make tracks shouldn't make a difference. Most DAW's can do the same thing these days so it's probably something really simple (the small notes) like having snap to grid on or something like that. I've never used Logic myself but it's a pretty standard feature on all DAW's.
1/6, 1/12,... Are triplet grids in logic.

OK so what determines what bassnotes is going to be played? I see hardstyle midis with bassnotes going down and up, but they change pretty swiftly.. any tips on this?
I mean do you have to think in terms of bassline matching the first topnote with fifths or thirds or so? using a little bit of music theory
