I can't (and wont) stop them ofcourse, but for some reason it kinda annoys me. (PLUR is american right? Never seen it used in Europe atleast. It feels like YOLO of EDM, some popular expression you use if your "cool".)

But since it was only me, I'm gonna go and hide that opinion. Haven't seen much like it on the partys I've been to though, maybe I just haven't checked properly.
Well you know, you call those people 'fake' or posers but in fact, kandi/chemi/junglist/rave scene exists since the early 90s. So technically speaking, those are the true and original partypeople of our scene.

I'm pretty sure the kandi "ravers" that are ridiculous and embarrassing started showing up when the majority of parties were legal in the sort of mid 90's. I mean that is when the rave scene started to really get commercialized

These are the original ravers

Anyway, why do people still use the term rave? I understand if you're going to some party in the middle of a field or in a warehouse but don't call some big festival or a club a fucking rave. It's so annoying.

Well i'm not going to start calling every event a "festival" or the punters 'festival goers' which sounds more retarded that anything, When did one stage events with one style of music become "festivals"?

Everyone does, Look in General Discussion and you will see some stream from a house party that is a "Festival". It's a festival if it is outdoor and has multiple stages with different styles of music but if it doesn't then i'm going to call it a rave. Doesn't matter if it is a massive stadium like Qlimax or a tiny warehouse like for the Happy Snax events here, It's still a rave.

I think the PLUR being the YOLO of Rave is accurate in the current sense, since most PLUR people I know of are complete assholes to people not in their scene, very hostile to people not in their circle, and are very annoying/flaunting their shit all of the time.
Most of them being teenyboppers or 30+ year old creepy manchildren.

Worst shit in PLUR/rave scene (from a page on Facebook)

I'd imagine so. "PLUR" scene is fucking terrible over here. Too many little kids trying to be special snowflakes and getting fucked up instead of actually LIKING THE MUSIC.
Maybe we should show that that new Gabber documentary from the Hardcore board :+

Well I guess those people are clueless idiots then. And there's no way in hell I would ever consider Qlimax a rave. All Qlimax is, is a hardstyle event. Then again, you have your opinions on what a rave is and I have mine.
