Swedish girls dresses like that, minus the bracelets...
I'm grumpier than you.
Do people even read these?
Do people even read these?
And what exactly is wrong on that? I dont understand. I think it's a beautiful, unique subculture (and defo not just american as you say). there is punk subculture, metal subculture, goth, indie, skinhead and literally dozens of others, im glad there is some electronic music subculture too and honestly i wish it was more spread.

Exactly, I don't see the point in complaining about how people dress either. Just let everyone (girls) wear whatever they want to and let us guys enjoy that
Besides I remember Q-Base from some years ago (2007 afaik) where lots of Germans (even guys) were wearing those fluffy things as well, so I wouldn't say it's American only

Mr. Revealed
I don't really know why it bothers me. It feels "fake" for some reason, like using a rave to dress like sluts or something like that, not really loving the music. I can't (and wont) stop them ofcourse, but for some reason it kinda annoys me. (PLUR is american right? Never seen it used in Europe atleast. It feels like YOLO of EDM, some popular expression you use if your "cool".)
But since it was only me, I'm gonna go and hide that opinion. Haven't seen much like it on the partys I've been to though, maybe I just haven't checked properly.

Yeah, it's nice, but just until a certain point.DjVero wrote:Exactly, I don't see the point in complaining about how people dress either. Just let everyone (girls) wear whatever they want to and let us guys enjoy that![]()
There were people saying Plur here in the early 2000's although I haven't heard anyone mention that for years
, The kandi culture was more connected to the happy hardcore scene here (early 2000's most raves here had 10 HHC dj's to 2 Hardstyle/ Hard Trance dj's) and as you can see it suits that music alot more than hardstyle. Hardstyle scene merely adopted it
I think it's cute, Respect for going to that much trouble lol. ALOT better than all the shirtless meatheads who go to every festival for the sole reason to show off their roided out muscles and bad mullets, Now thats what i call a poser

10 years this ago, this was what everyone had on in Australia. It was a big reason why rave culture got so popular in the underground before it made its way to mainstream culture

Rave outfit looks amazing. And (most of) boobs look amazing. Now combine these two
Now seriously, I don't see the problem here, what's wrong with someone dressing in a specific way huh?
If they aren't posers it's okay imo. When I see some metalheads or punks on the streets, I always look at them in a positive way. It's a subculture. Blaming girls for dressing like this is like blaming gabbers for wearing those rainbow colored bomber jackets. They look awful imo, but it's a symbol.

I've heard PLUR since i started listening to Hardcore, more specifically in UK/Happy hardcore. I've never been to europe, so i can't comment on that. But i know its been in Australia for some time. Its not specifically American, and its been around for almost 20 years IIRC.Leifson wrote:PLUR is american right? Never seen it used in Europe atleast. If you didn't already know, it stands for Peace Love Unity Respect. My understanding of it is that its how you are meant to act towards others and yourself at Raves, and in general. The amount of people that follow those rules and the amount of people that just blurt it out are nowhere near the same imo. So you're right in that sense, but its hardly "The YOLO of EDM"
Also, the dressing you are referring to is called "Kandi" and its not just specific to girls (or the USA.) Fluffies are more for girls (I don't think i've ever seen a guy wearing them haha) While "Phat Pants" seem to be what guys wear.
Here's an example of my mate when we recently went to a Rave, as you can see, its not specifically for girls

All of what you are referring to are just different elements of Rave culture. Which has been around for ages. None of it is Specific to America or Girls. And its about as far from fake as you can get imo.
