Rawstyle midintros

Post by Nazz »

Does anyone have any tutorials, or any tips on this?
I think this is one of the hardest thing to do when producing a track.
I'm good at breaks, leads and kicks but I can't seem to to mid intros.

But I hear things like Theracords & Tillt and the intros sound really simple but really full.

When I hear a midintro, I can best describe it as electric/robotic/screechy/... etc, but that's just an atmosphere, a feeling. think beyond 1st thoughts, can I use things you didn't expect at 1st thought? Choirs? special percussion? (reversed) FX's? etc... this and your kickdrum, synthwork and creativity :)
I'm not a pro when it comes to midintro's though, they're still hard labour for a producer to learn, but so is hardstyle as a genre :)

I think the general idea is to have a kick good enough to fill a part of the midintro on it's own, then add light percussion and some basic sounds that come up in the rest of the track.

The rest is all your creativity. Could be something entirely different of the rest of the track too, as long as it remains a single piece. Atmosphere works wonders.

I think mid intro's are pretty extremely hard to make.. ive been messing with them for about 8 months now and still i cant make a nice one. i think once you begin to understand how to build it all up it will be alot easier
