Idk what kind of hardstyle you are listening to because there are almost no lyrics in mine

I'd actually take the flip side and say Americans are more accustomed to lots of vocals/lyrics, minute long buildups, and frequent breaks. It's having a 150bpm kick pattern last for longer than a few seconds that seems to blow people's minds in my experience. That or the fact that a hardstyle kick can take up the entire frequency spectrum and sound good even playing by itself. It's all about the individual sounds, timbre > texture.

Very much this. Most people in america listen to music for ONLY lyrics. Which i ludicrous imo. Music is about the music, not vocals, which most all vocals sound extremely similar, being in "common meter".

tfw some people tell me what I listen to isn't music because it doesn't have "words."

Well... im sadly disappointed to see that a majority of hardstyle followers appear to be such close minded assholes. Thats why i never talk about music to anyone. :/

All of the crazy surrounding this already makes me one sad person.

q-dance stage was amazing, between 5,000-10,000 people at all times. how is that not a success? it was the very first hardstyle stage in america EVER.

Those are some of the most ignorant stereotypical comments I've ever heard. Dutch hardstyle is commercialzed TO THE MAX. In fact most americans prefer reverse bass, high energy dance music.. not the clap a long pop remixes that dominate todays hardstyle sound. Hardstyle has a draw of between 1,000 to 10,000 people in many cities. Why do numbers matter? Quality > Quantity. American hardstyle crowds LOVE the music, they arent there just cause its "hip".

I dont say that dutch hs isn´t commercial nowadays , but if you look at the aftermovies and videos on youtube , you can see that the stage is packed with people when headhunterz , coone ,noisecontrollers are playing , those people are playing exact the style with cheesy melodys an soft kick you said the most americans don´t like , and if there are some artists playing the raw - harder stuff , they are going away , where are the people on the endymion show ? there where maby 700 -800 people left ,... and if you read my comment it says , there are some true harstyle lover ( wich i include you , cause you know what you are talking about ) an yeah maby there are in some citys 1000- 10000 people who listen to hardstyle but it isnt that hard to find that amount of people in citys where 4.000.000 + are living in . and yeah you are also right hs nowadays is commercial but only if you like the big names, but there are enough artist left who are playing really hard music without all the shit vocals and soft kick.

Headhunterz was at like 1, whereas endymion was at like 4 or 5 AM, I wanted to go home before endymion and I LOVE hardcore
