I disagree. Yes, you can make a lot of sounds with a synthesizer. But on the other hand, a synthesizer will always sound like a synthesizer. There are tons of different kinds of guitars and effects, tons of string instruments, horns etc, different kinds of pianos, drums, the list goes on. I don't really think electronic music has more space for creativity(in fact I think most non EDM music is more creative).

Piano, Violin & Ehru. I love the sound of those three and the feelings that you can put across with them :D

Yes, a synthesizer may always sound like a synthesizer, but then again, a piano will always sound like a piano, and a guitar will always sound like a guitar, no matter what variant of said instrument. There are also tons of different synthesizers; after all, Sylenth 1 isn't the only soft synth in existence, and Virus TI is not the only analogue synth in existence.
Also, who the hell says that non-EDM is only limited to (acoustic) instruments? Enter Shikari uses synths in their work, and Pop, at least older pop, is a fusion of acoustic & electronic instruments. I've also heard Jazz with synth elements.

This was made with harmor, and harmor only. Syntheseizers ftw.

But then, I love violins and pianos. Especially in combination like this one:
I'm grumpier than you.

Do people even read these?

Not me, I listen to tons of synthpop. Naked & Famous, M83, Passion Pit, you name it. I just don't think synths allow more creativity than instruments. I think both synths and instruments can add space for creativity to eachother, but saying just synthesizers allow more space for creativity than instruments is nonses IMO.

@SCH, there are instruments that produce a similar sound too...

Piano and violin... no matter the ability of changing the sound is pretty narrow, these instruments could always sound beautiful to me. Honestly, I'm glad they're still sound the same :)
