Hi! First of all, wich DAW do you use? I suggest you start with learning your DAW and how it works. On YouTube look for tutorials of your DAW (FL, Cubase etc) Start with the basics. Also, you might want to learn how a track is built. I think there are some topics about that on this forum. Learn synthesizers. You might want to check out Sylenth1, because it's an easy synth wich can make some decent sounds. But do NOT, i repeat NOT use presets and samples. Try making your own stuff. In the beginning it can be hard, very hard, and I can imagine that you want to be able to build sick tracks in a short amount of time, but that's almost impossible. Learn how to make kicks, how to make a lead, how to make melody's etc.

1. First you need to get familiar with a program you are/will be working with. If you haven't made that decision yet, here are the most used ones: FL Studio (win only) Cubase (win&mac), Studio One (win&mac) and Logic Pro (mac only). It is really a personal choice, although some may have better algorithms than the others, but then again, it is always up to you/producer, what you can do with the DAW. If you have made a decision, you might want to explore the program and learn the basics such as what's a piano roll, how does a program's layout look like, what is VST/AU, and so on...You can also learn this stuff as you go along, but it is better to understand as many functions of the DAW as you can, because later in the process, you don't want a technical problem to block your imagination.

2. Learn the music theory. You won't achieve much without knowing at least the basics of scales and chord(s) progression.

3. Now you can start learning about synthesis and kicks. You can find so much free quality tutorials and also payable courses regarding synthesis, so i suggest you to first learn what an OSC is and than what the filters, LFO's, envelopes are and what do they do to the sound. The latter is another story. Hardstyle kicks are difficult to make and you need a lot of patience, especially at the beginning. There's a lot of tutorials on the internet as well, must some of them are useless, so i would like to point out 3 of them: a) Frontliner's tutorial, b) DaDaze tutorial #1 and #2 and c) Prototype's tutorial

4. All along the process, listen to your favorite music and not just enjoy listening to it but be careful, what producers do in their tracks - how they suspense/break down, what FX and percussion do they use, etc. and you'll see there's a lot of stuff going on in the background of the track you might not have heard before, but trust me, without those FX, tracks would sound empty.

5. Mixdown & mastering. First one is more important for you as a producer but i won't bore you with this stuff yet because it is not as important as the previous ones. You will eventually learn about this when you make your songs.

This is just a very brief overview. Write some more details here and we will help you more in depth.

Yeah, I wish someone wouldve told me that learning your DAW first is the most important thing. When you become comfortable with your DAW, everything else is much easier.

I think the longest step is getting comfortable with your DAW and learning to mix. I've been producing since I was fourteen or so and learning how to mixdown tracks is definetly a skill that grows over time. But once you figure it out everything is just smoooooth sailing (H)
