Good Producer headphones?

Hi All!

I want to give my studio 'a big upgrade in the future and with doing that I also want a good headphone for producing Anyone has a good advice about a good headphone which gives a nice clean sound? Im lookin for something like the quality of monitor boxes but than in headphone format

well i often use the Sennheiser HD25 C II .. in the description it says its also perfect for producing ... so that might be a good option

heaphones are extremely good for producing parts and extremely bad to mix with
you will never find headphones that match any kind of monitors, that's due their hardware limitations to L+R only and being very close to the ears
there are some workaround like the redline monitor vst from 112db, but it just doesn't fix entirely the problem

I dont think you will find ever find headphones which produce the same sound as monitors. You will be able to find really good quality sound headphones but i doubt they will give you an accurate response like monitors do.

Do you already have monitors? If you dont, you can get monitors like KRK which are good enough for bedroom studios at a decent price.

i totally love the 701's by akg, thinking of buying them later this year
their reputation is as good as their sound, had the pleasure to test 'em out a few weeks ago when i bought my 181's (which are also stunning btw! those are maybe the only dj-headphones i know which are worth producing with)

Precision At Its Finest

I've owned many pairs of headphones in my time. Some being Sony MDR-V700 / Sony 7509 / Acoustic Research / Sennheiser HD-25 / Sennheiser HD-555 / Beyerdynamic DJX-1 just to name a few and non of them have the pin point sound of these headphones. These sound amazing for producing and can be used for hours on end to maximize comfort. I would recommend these headphones for producing and long usage of any forms of music listen.

Comparing studio with dj headphones... at least the Sony MDR V700 are dj headphones are not really recommended for production and how much are you willing to pay for a pair of headphones? Because that's usually what it comes down to.

I bought the Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro. I can really recommend them.

Not only do they sound good, they are very comfortable so you can use them for ours without making your ears hurt.

Hehe right but for someone that maybe only used dj headphones it might be important to point out stuff like that.
Before my dt770's i have pretty much only used my technics dj headphones and a pair of akg headphones that ware made for homelistening and none of them ware even close to how comfortable the dt770's are.
