Why do my vengenace samples sound weird?

Post by Colorblind »

Hey guys,

To start off, i am using FL studio 10, and i have the scarlet 2i2 USB audio interface.

I have alot of vengeance samples, such as VEC 1 and so forth...

the thing that is concerning me is, i am watching tutorials on youtube wich use the same samples as me but when i go to find the same exact sample he is using it sounds nooothing like mine... my samples have these weird sounds to them and dont sound clean at all.

can someone help me out

Could be a few things. Do you have a limiter on the master channel? Also, in the Sampler, in the 'Time stretching' section, the knob under 'time,' make sure it's pulled all the way down, so it's at the lowest point it can be at on the left.

Hmm, when I use that same kick, it doesn't sound like his one either if it makes you feel any better. As far as I know, he could've had a variety of the effects on the master which are changing the sound. I wouldn't worry about it.

I'm pretty sure its because he recorded the sound through his microphone from his speakers and not directly from FL on his computer.

Different bit/sample rates to your project? Do your samples sound shorter than the ones he uses?

try 16 bit or 24bit, some samples spazz out at 32bit in samplers ... well i know logic doesn't like them
