Experiencing the same thing.

Started off exclusively with Hardstyle and slowly started listening to much more within the harder and faster styles. I think the love for hard edge music has always been there since I used to listen to a lot of Industrial Metal, Electro-Industrial, Aggrotech etc. I can still enjoy mainstream Hardstyle and even some sing-along stuff (not when every other track has hands-up singalong breaks) on commercial parties, but my main listening at home now is Hardcore. Industrial and Terror mostly, enjoying exploring Crossbreed too at the moment :)

Can even enjoy stuff like this

Just not for hours on end :+

I am starting to develop in the complete same direction too. Therabyte is dead, Theracords is becoming "raw" and Fusion's unique hard sounds has been dead for years now. Only Spoontech and Nutty Traxx/Straight On Black still excite me but I have to look for another style cause otherwise I would run out of music soon. So I have to say "Thank you" to Raver who has already helped me to step into Industrial and Crossbreed and also Icey showed me hard tracks which are not only Hardstyle but Hardcore or Hardtechno-influenced.
I really hate it how Hardstyle has been developing for 2-3 years now with this singalong Nu style crap

Cheers for the mention mate but I'm in the same position as you.
I'm not a so-called 'hater'. Never have been as I've supported artists & labels for years but right now I HATE what the scene has become!(Fuck, I feel sorry for the people who told me this in 07)...
Just check the release's in the Hardstyle section to find a page full of trash. An utter joke! Ffs people are making Hard Trance these days which is more Hardstyle than those releases will ever be!
But enough of my negative attitude. I try not to lash out these days but its hard not to when the amount of trash is rammed in your face daily!
I'm posting and reading a lot more in the hardcore section now and am preparing a new Hardcore mix which I hope you guys can enjoy. Very much like this topic and great to see so many of us feeling the same :)

110% agreed. With MOH coming to Australia my HC lover has just ejaculated. Hardstyle for me was getting too cheesy especially Wildstylez, I mean yeah, Year of Summer is good when your on pills but other than that its pretty pathetic (Timeless is amazing though for a cheesy track). Also with Headhunterz joining Ultra Music Records, hardstyle's quality may further go down the toilet :( BUT Ran-D and B-Front's anthems at Hard Bass and Reverze blew me away, and now I love RAW-style (hadn't really listened to it much but Ran-D sure changed that ;D ). Also in Australia all the little kids who've been in the rave scene for like 1 year hakken to hardstyle, I mean what idiot does that? And when HC comes on, they suck and can't keep up with the BPM, another reason why I'm turning my love to HC, you go absolutely nuts with the hakken. HC LOVE FROM AUSTRALIA, SYDNEY _O_

I had the same "problem" and I know more people stucking with it. But I listened Hardcore before I liked hardstyle, and I've chosen to keep my love at the harder style, and just embrace the new hardcore.

I've been thinking about this, and for me it's not hardcore or any other genres that kills HS for me..
It's HS that kills HS, so I just seek other genres to listen to. And so far it has worked pretty good. I seem like having phases with different kinds of music. For instance, a year ago I listened to a lot of Hardcore, during summer last year I discovered older Dubstep (I prefer to call it UK Bass Music though), and basically listened to that all summer, then during fall I listened to a lot of old hardstyle, which developed into hard hardstyle besides the nustyle classics, then into Industrial Hardcore & Crossbreed, then Drum and Bass and now I'm back at UK Bass Music.. Weird how this happens..
